Thanks for the quick review! I've seen those books for years and was always curious how they were.
 
i've read all the articles on his site, itlooks like good info.

i was always curious about whether the books would be worth it for the money, but didn't want to spend the money to find out.

maybe i will have to check them out after all...
 
I have read them, all of them. I thought they were ok.

I am not (and have never been) in the military, and IIRC, @ 50% of his material is military specific so at least that part was not particularly helpful to me. As an enlistee, he takes a lot of jabs (mostly in fun) at officers. He is also in dire need of a proofreader to correct a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. However, if you can read past those things, there are some helpful tidbits in there that apply to civilian outdoor recreation such as camping and hiking.

I ended up selling mine when I was done reading them.
 
Some of the stuff on his site looked interesting. Some less so. I really liked all he did w/ the tent poles, if you are using the fiberglass ones.
