Maybe this has been asked a few times already but are the RAT Pack numbers now ESEE Pack numbers? Also, aside from the 25 posts, which seems rather odd, isn't a better requirement to actually own an ESEE knife?

you dont need to own an ESEE knife
you just have to have 25 posts in the subforum
i dont think that is odd

I would tend to agree, however, how are people going to prove they actually have one?

The way I understand it, the RAT pack is about contributing to the knowledge base on this forum - not selling knives.
I didn't get a RAT/ESEE knife until after I had my number, and that was mostly becuase I liked what I was reading, the cameraderie amontg the pack members, etc... -- so I got a knife to see if it could live up to my expectations. So far I'm happy enough with it I've started picking more up off the exchange to give to friends who like practicing ourdoor skills as well.
I don't see any reason why someone with a plain Jane $10 mora can't be as much a contributor or member of the pack than someone with 4 of each flavor of ESEE knife.

I doubt we'll ever call it the "ESEE pack", it might get renamed later, it might not. I haven't really decided yet.

As for the 25 posts being odd, we want folks to come in and stick around for awhile. Read some threads, contribute a bit and get a feel for the way things work around here.

The last thing we want is to say "You need to own X, Y or Z before being a member of this little think tank", that's not what this is about.;)

How can I check my in subforum post count? I own two RAT knives and one of the zippo's, but I'm not sure what my post count is in here. I'd love to join the pack now, or whenever I am eligible.
 
Okay - I finally reached the required 25 post - can I now have a Rat Pack number please...................

p.s. I am way more than 18 years old :) That pink Izula will make a nice present for my 4_th birthday. Love this forum but it going to hurt my wallet and upset the missus.
