"THE RATTLER" bk9 mods thus far...UPDATED PICS

Very cool mods the the scales. I just don't think that I could do stuff like that with mine. Nice work!

Hey Clichtenwalner1......

I really LIKE the way you did the scales.....Cool and classy !!!!!.....Velly intellesting.....I would be interested in knowing if hotspots develop after prolonged use....If it is only utility neutral it is a FINE fashion statement !!!!.....

All Best.....

Lookin good man.If you could do all your mods over would you change anything?

Absolutely. The only thing I would change is that I would arm myself with more tools. I don't even have a vice or clamps so there are a lot of imperfections that come from free handing with a dremel (lots of walking marks and not the most even grinds on the spine and pommel) . I did a so so job of masking them the best I could but they're there. But either way, yes I would do them all again. Its fun to try some new things and really make it your own

Thank you sir,

I just showed my wife your post and asked her if I can print it out and hand it into work when I ask for the rest of the week off to test it out :D. I can't wait to try her out, and make sure she is just as pleasing in hand as she is to the eye. Thanks for your kind words

You're talking about your KNIFE in the second part of that right? lol

Love that knife, but why did you decide to ditch the 2 tone patina? that was IMO one of the nicest parts.

I didnt, just decided to use bluing instead. up close the mustard/vinegar patinas arent as smooth and uniform. they look great in pics, just not up close, imo anyway. it still has the same two tone effect

Buh? wha?! *head explodes*

What is with the hate for the thumb ramps?! Honestly, it gives so much more control over a fist type grip. Now granted, this is the BK&T forum, and Becker handles are some of the best 'fist' grips around... But still. Thumb up there lets you feel the blade, control the pressure somewhat. So many people grinding them off that it makes me cry... I'm considering stripping my 2, getting out the welder, and welding a ramp on. JUSH TA PROVE A POINTE!

Not to let my crazy ramblings take away from the awesome mod and overall look of the blade, which is awesome. Good job on all that. Ah hell... Now I need to go make a new thread...

I added a choil to the 10 so the ramp was uncomfortable when choked up, the 9 was ground off because, well, its a freaking chopper and i got other knives for fine work :D

mmhokay. I started out with folders. And the grip on a folder is much different than the grip on a large fixed blade. Prolly has a lot to do with my obsession with the thumb. Course. I am also crazy...

thanks man. been in the works for a while. not sure if she is even done yet

I do not understand why do they make these large rectangular holes inside the handle. I am guessing to reduce weight in the handle, but they could have balanced the knife by adding 1-2mm thicker blade or something. This way it looks like there is a weak point in the handle where metal can snap... though I've never heard it actually happened... or did it?

I believe it hasn't happened yet unless it has or not. That's not official however, so don't repeat it. And of course...................................

I'm in. Thanks for the chance.
Beckerhead #65

The square holes in the handle are for the round pegs. They are aftermarket.
