The real reason I own a Hilter knife

I'm not going to be professional about this and I'm going to be brief:

I see a lot of beautiful, vintage daggers that have gorgeous handles that have swatzikas on them. At first, I thought it was sort of discusting to see that sign. But after I thought about it, I had to get one. The whole reason I love knives is the fact that such an important tool has such a cultural tie to people and ideas. It only makes sense that a swatzika would have in some point be put on a knife, because it is the most widely used tool. The symbol is a direct link between cultural ties and strong beliefs and knives. I think it's wonderful that cultures put their culture and beliefs on a knife. It's just a fascinating thing to me.

So, I see a Hitler knife. Same theory...

Not close to racist... just interested...

While I can't, of course, comment on your piece specifically, the fact is that the vast majority of Nazi knives and swords are fake. China has made many times as many Nazi daggers as the Germans ever did. Many of the fakes are quite obvious, but many of them are quite good and frequently fool the unpracticed eye.

The owner of such a fake then has to ask himself what it stands for. Does it have a "direct link between cultural ties and strong beliefs"? Did the culture that made it, "put their culture and beliefs on {this} knife"? One might submit that, in fact, it does have a direct link to the strong beliefs of the culture that makde it, that they did put their beliefs on it. However, inasmuchas the culture that made it is that of China or perhaps Pakistan, those cultural beliefs may not be the cultural beliefs that you're reading into the piece.

What kind of German military dagger are you talking about? There were many different types. Do you have a picture?
