The Revenant, who's going to see it?

I just got done watching the film. I thought it was amazing. Powerful story and beautifully filmed. Great scenery. Great symbolism. Leo did an amazing job on this. As did Tom hardy. If you are interested in this type of film I highly suggest it. Maybe my new all time favorite. My .2

Not too mention that ML Knivs made some knives for the movie too. A large skinner and two Kepler style knives. Cannot wait to see this one, just saw the Star Wars movie first, same as opening night for Revenant here 1/8/16, so I wanted to wait until crowds die down.

Saw it on a streaming site I stumbled upon over three weeks ago for free and without a hitch. Also saw Creed which was outstanding!
It was a fine film, well crafted and highly entertaining. The will to survive is amazing. It must have been a difficult film to produce under such harsh conditions.i don't know about Oscar material since these days it seems some pretty unbelievably lousy films are nominated and winning. But what the hell do I know.

I think Mike Mann of Idaho Knife Works made two of the Hardy character's knives - the SF Bowie and the Hudson Bay.

Well I went I watched and I was amazed how well this movie was done, kudos to all involved in making that fine film! It was visually striking! The human will tested to its limits, fantastic! There wasn't a peep out of a single soul in that packed theater today but I could hear many comments on how good the film was afterwards, I think the majority of the crowd were just so wrapped up in the movie they didn't even realize it lol I saw several people rush out to do whatever and practically come jogging back into the theater.

Great movie! I loved the scenery! Made me homesick a bit for those cold winter days in the woods. I could almost feel the cold air. Gotta say all the characters were well acted and believable. It is a long movie so be sure to "rest" before the movie starts :) Saw a lot of people miss some of the film due to bathroom breaks.

Ya, I'm an urban prisoner as many here are, and more of a rough tough cream puff than I would like to admit. I'll catch it on a movie channel, as the wife has no interest. Not a big fan of Mr. Intense Stare, but hey, suspension of disbelief and all that, rock the fantasy all the way. :)

I like the accuracy on the firearms but there was one scene where Glass is grabbing his rifle to shoot at bad guy with the hammer back and the frizzen open! That isn't going to work well for him at all. You need to hunt with flint in the rain for a while to appreciate the skills of the old timers.
Mike Mann's knives only show up clear in the last 10 minutes of the movie. Anyone heard if Mike is back on his feet and able to make knives again?

I can't wait to see it. You guys aren't helping none either.

Just got back from seeing it.

Do it.

There are some Hollywood moments but make-up, costumes, props, scenery, music and dialogue are put together to make this one fantastic. I haven't been to a movie theater in probably ten years but had to see this one.

Seen it and loved it.

Cant help but be proud some of it filmed in my beautiful province of British Columbia( or so Im told) Also the fur he buffalo hide he wore was provided buy a local (to me) from 70 Mile House B.C

It's definitely better than Star Wars.

The animation is a good as I've seen in other fantasy stuff, for example Harry Potter.

I was as unconvinced about the off the cliff thing as I was Rambo's famous leap.

The story is necessarily basic, and accordingly the climax is fairly predictable. As a grudge movie I liked Unforgiven better.

I don't do much fiction 'cos after all it is just made up stuff. I didn't feel robbed by this one though. It's a pretty good adventure yarn.

Some of the fur trade post journals can be just as hair raising and totally non fiction.

LONG movie, but worth it. I would say the big screen is the way to go, I think you would miss something on a small screen.

Very bleak, and gray, not a lot of color but worth watching.

From what I read, the actual attack was worse that what they had in the movie.

Saw the movie, last night... liked it. Some parts were very realistic, others made me roll my eyes(someone loved their Rambo movies). I think they needed more "consulting" with a few of those scenes... but it was very entertaining.

My assessment also.....well worth seeing. I really enjoyed the use of natural light only during the filming(fire too)

I plan on seeing it when the crowds die down some. From what I gather from some of the posts here sounds like it's a mix between Seraphim Falls and Man in the Wilderness (Richard Harris 1971). If so, I should like it.
