The Runt vs the techno

So Phil, whats this referring to, "After you've paid for your subscription remember to CHANGE YOUR USERGROUP in the control panel by clicking on the Group Memberships link."? User group = ? Tanks Tom

Not Phil, but I think I can help. Click on "Settings" on the very top right. From the tabs on the left, choose Permission Groups and select the membership level you purchased.

Depends on how big your fingers are and the grip you use I supposed. In the below pic it looks like a 3 finger but the way I actually grip it when using it's a 2 finger.

i cn easily fit 3 fingers on it
i wear a size Large glove at the shop

Thanks Phillip and Thurin. From the pic Thurin's hand looks much bigger than mine so 3 of my fingers would probably fit.

Great post TomR2. I've always bypassed the runt thinking it was too small for an EDC. Your comparison with the techno folder is making me rethink that. The other pics from Condor, Guhul, Tx, Noah and Thurin has probably sealed it for me. Now if I can score some gator pants from Bud like Noah's, that would really do it. Time to add it to my wish list.

Sweet review. I carry a Techno quite often and I love the design. I like small fixed blades, but they never seem to end up being carried much so currently my used fixed blades (mostly Fiddlebacks) are 4+ inches and I use folders (mostly Spyderco) for anything smaller.
I have some smaller fixed blades in the workshop that get plenty of use, but they aren't normally carried with me.

For me the Runt wins any day of the week.

I love hearing this. I think the Runt is one of the easiest to carry knives I've owned too. And I've never had anyone scared of my Runt. A wallet/back pocket sheath and it disapears and they never see it anyway. When you pull it out to use, its definitely not threatening. My tiny little wife even carries one. Hers is a special one as it was involved in a near shop catastrophy that scared the living daylights out of me. When I was making it the guys in the shop were moving a table with an old drill press on it. We were going to get rid of the drill press. Anyway they didn't know the chord had been tied to the wall. I, dumb dumb dumb dumb, assumed they had already unplugged the drill press. I didn't want it to topple over on them, so I walked up and cut the powerchord with the Runt. It was finish grinding day, so the knife had no edge and I used a lot of force in the cut. Well, it cut through the chord just fine, but there was a loud pop and a flash of blue light. I stood back, feeling shocked, checking myself for injury and asking everyone if they were OK. Everyone was, even to my suprise, me. But the edge of the Runt had melted back at least 1/4". It was a beauty with burl scales too. After a break to stop the shakes, I ground the edge back and re ground the bevels and gave it to my wife. The edge of that Runt is at least 3/8" narrower than the pattern. She carries that knife in her purse.

I'm glad you upgraded your membership Tom. Now you get to deduct $5 from each of your future purchases directly from us. I do this to encourage folks helping Bladeforums out. So hopefully, that pays for itself several times over!

Thanks for sharing that episode Andy. Glad nobody got hurt. The Runt grows on you as it has with me. My 3 year old daughter calls it her bubba knife [emoji3]
