Well, i guess UPS let me down again...god do I hate them...I have never once had a problem with FedEx, but UPS has like a 70% failure rate with me for some reason...

Here is the topic if you guys don't know what I am talking about...
http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum15/HTML/000301.html

UPS has about 40 minutes to get here untill it hits on 7pm(which I believe is when they stop delivering..) .. I WILL NOT BE HOLDING MY BREATH ...

UPS should stand for something like 'Us??, a Package Service??'

Ohh well, i guess i have to wait till monday...just 6 days shy of waiting 5 months.

Guess what??

It just got delivered...YAY...finally...

Now, it's inspection time...

I guess they have a 65% ish rate now...

Thanks, Mike, for the free bump to 2nd day air....

Everything about the knife is almost perfect....almost...I am having a HUGE problem with my lacth...its tooooo short..here's a pic of it..

um, have u tried squeezing the handles then latching it? my 42 looks like that too when unlatched, but a slight squeeze and it fits perfect, if it wasn't like that the latch wouldn't stay put...

I really, really, really need to squeeze the handles to get it closed...It kinda scares me to hear the grinding noise it makes when I puch the latch down....I dunno, it seems a bit to tight for me.

The 42 I sent back latched very easily. Although, it was all scratched at the latch, as if someone had been latching and unlatching it repeatedly.

The sheath is a joke. They made a sheath thats 1/2" short... I dunno why...

You could make it latchless but look under the latch, the latch gate is round out in there, it will make you grind the latch gates almost (if not completely) away in order to have flat handle bottoms.

Yep you need to squeeze pretty hard but it does work easier later on.

And yes the sheath, as has been mentioned in other threads, certainly lacks where this knife is concerned. I'd recommend using that one for another knife and getting a Blackie Collins one that will fit, or one like it.

Glad to hear UPS came through for you, can be frustrating!

the reason the sheath is short is because it was not designed FOR the BM42. If you look at sheaths from say knifezilla, ag russell and joe's internet knives.. you wil notice that they are exactly the same minus different lining colors and logo.. yes thiese are sheaths from the infamous "your name here sheath co."

there is only one product and it's just logo-ized liek them damn corporate office giveaways. I duno why BM stoooped this low when they had perfectly nice malaysian slaves to make their condura sheaths.

Sure it works cause the ld balis and folding knives usually come in 4 inch blade configs as 'standard' so all was well in the neightbourhood.. unfortunately the BM 42 has a 4.2. inch blade.,. oh my god.. BM cab;'t send back those 50 million pre fab sheaths they had made.

Someone shoot me already.

If you are at all familiar with the Jags and the China POS etc... then one day you will very much be thankful for that firm squeeze that it takes to secure the 42.

Kind regards,
