The Sage 3 has landed!

Great job on the photos Jack! The Sage III is definitely a good looking knife. And good on Sal for getting the first couple out to the two of you who helped with the project.

One of us is still waiting, but it looks well worth the wait. Definitely a big thank-you in order for Sal and Olive for her assistance.

Time to turn in your computer for something made in America? Have you checked your cellphone, your kids' iPod, half of the components in your Ford?

God the Sage line is so beautiful and they are perfect for me in every way but I can't get over that it is made in Taiwan and that it is stamped on the blade. It makes me sick to my stomach that I won't buy it just on that merit. Gorgeous blade.

Nice looking addition to the Sage family.....thanks for the great review Jack !

Having worked closely with a Taiwanese coworker for a couple of years, I have nothing but love and admiration for the Taiwanese people as a whole. And from an objective point of view, ALL of the Spyderco knives that I've seen come out of Taiwan have been nothing but FIRST RATE! It's a good move for everyone as far as I'm concerned.

Love that Smurf bone! :D

As far as opening/closing though, is it like the AXIS lock in that you can pull back the lock, easily flick it open with a wrist flip, and close it the same way?

Pretty much. The blade on mine has a bit more drag than most of my Axis locks, and it is much harder to pull the release than the Axis, but it is very smooth and easily swings open with minimal wrist action.

It was one of the early pieces sent out. TheFirefox and I sent samples of original Blackie Collins Bolt Action folders to Sal for study. He very kindly sent us early pieces. They should be shipping to dealers in a couple of weeks.

For those anxious to get one, over on the factory forum Sal said

They should be shipping to dealers early in January.
