The SAKKlip

All, just wanted to let you know that DC Munroe and I have reached agreement o the SAKKlips. I'll be making theSAKklips in limited numbers available with my SAK mods, with DC's consent.

Thanks!
Scott

The SAKKlip looks interesting. I use a small Nite-Ize S-Biner to suspend SAKS inside my pants pocket as shown below.

stole your idea and i like it:D they were for sale at hardware store

That works too, now if they only made the Nite-Ize in Titanium....The issue that I've experienced with the small S Biners is that they are hard to withdraw from your pocket if they are clipped. Their clip has a little notch for the spring that seems to hang on jeans.

Scott, I've sent you an email about getting a clip since I can't find any info on your website.

I have been looking for something like this for a long time for my keychain! I'd even thought of contacting STR to see if he would do a Ti one for me.

I can't wait to hear more about this idea!

Edit to add: The closest thing I could find to this clip is this, which is way too big for use as a pocket clip.

Been modding SAKS again. I have collected 84mm SAKS for a long time, ran into a good deal on Sportsman II 84mm knives recently. Decided to go Old School on an the Sportsman II and add a layer with scissors. Had some vintage bone scale scraps (~80 yr old pick bone) knife has brass outer liners and nickel silver bolsters.

Also for my EDC combo I added one of my TI SAKKlips and a Photon micro-light.

a couple months ago i was sitting in the lunch area at my school, slicing an orange with my Vic Classic and i saw sitting under the table a broken pen cap, suddenly i had a minor stroke of genius i took the cap, went to the shop class and carefully welded the clip of the pen into the slot that the toothpick normally rests in. now my classic clips quite nicely to the watch pocket (i also hooked a Spyderco Jester onto the classics Key-ring so i now have a perfect little EDC kit that sits in my watchpocket unbeknownst to anyone)

If possible post a picture of the mod, it sounds cool!

Looks just like the Titanium Dangler that Deryk Munroe just started making. Funny how your's is so similar, Scott.

Probably because he came up with 'em first.

It's quite possible that ScottK and DC Munroe independently cam up with the same idea. I had a similar idea myself, but no skills to make it. :( sebastiantorres and parnass came up with similar solutions on their own, as well. Someone on EDCF posted a pic of a very similar clip of stainless steel that he used on his keychain. He's in Asia (I forget where, exactly) and it came as part of a lanyard or something.

Kudos to ScottK for contacting DC Munroe when he realized that he was already making the same thing!

Also, keep up the pics. That's a really cool SAK ScottK!

Sorry for the double post!

ColonelX - your post inspired me. I'm still hard at work coming up with mods for SAKS.

This is a tweak to the SAKKlip with a titanium clip that actually replaces the tweezers in the SAK. Still tweaking this one, it rides OK, but still needs some adjusting on the overall tension of the clip. I would appreciate your feedback.

Sorry for the crappy phone camera pix.

Thanks!
