The SAS urban survival tin. A small knife to put in it?

I also found this idea about making a small knife from a hacksaw blade. Interesting little project.

My suggestion would be to pick up a Victorinox Rambler and toss it on your key-ring instead of in your tin. The Rambler would provide you with a nice selection of tools and free up some space for other items in your tin. I think the tin should enhance your capabilities rather than duplicate what you’re already packing…

I’d suggest a wire-saw and a thin flat box-cutter type knife with some extra razor blades. Perhaps a hacksaw blade with some kind of handle attachment could come in handy. A more ‘aggressive’ tool might be a straight-razor. Not sure what sort of razor you're already packing. That hacksaw blade knife looks interesting, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anything thinner...

And because it’s you Ed, I’d also recommend an extra set of ear-plugs for the tin. You have a higher risk of exposure to sudden indoor gun-fire than the average bear! Also good for rock concerts… :)

Cheers!

Your right about the ear plugs, I’m adding them to the kit, thanks. These are the razors I have in my tin already; I put 2 of them taped to the lid.

I have looked at the rambler, it is a nice knife for the price, and I’m thinking maybe the knife included in the Swiss Card Light is going to be able to do the tasks the Rambler can do.
When I was looking at the Rambler I handled the Swiss Card Light and I really like all of the tools it packs. Its size is perfect for the tin I’m putting together.

Letter Opener/Blade - Small Scissors - Stainless Steel Pin -Tweezers -Pressurized Ballpoint Pen -Ruler (cm. and in.) - Magnifying Glass - 3 mm Screwdriver - 5 mm Screwdriver - 00-0 Phillips Screwdriver - 1-2 Phillips Screwdriver - LED, Light white. Length: 2.1/4in.

Do any of you guys have one of these ?

+ whatever number is next on the ladybug. (i have a black one thats sererated) also +1 on the ritter rsk mk5 i like the knife so much i bought one then went back and bought another! the knife fits in an altoids tin with its sheath on, but the best part is, it comes with its own tin. and it only cost like $20 bucks.

This is what I have in my tin so far. I put a homemade knife in it. Made it from a hacksaw blade (I call it the mini forest ape:D) but I did order the Ladybug, I think that will be the main knife in my kit. Thanks every one.

Not sure it will fit in there but you can't go wrong with a Bark River PSK, here is mine with a sheath I made.
