The Saturday - Sunday Picture Show... (12-28-29-2019) OLD...

Here are a couple 301's I acquired this month. The December BOTM in Ivory Micarta and the 2020 Remington Bullet knife in green Dymondwood. The Remington version is actually labeled as the model 50036. I suppose you could call them a Christmas gift to myself.

The Doctors knives have not received too much attention here. Probably due to their being ChinaBucks and an atypical pattern from our favorite knife maker. I kinda wonder if these were actually a Buck design or a project request driven by Smoky Mountain. Available in 4 scales (Black, Green, Brown, fake Stag) as well as 2 blade patterns (with and without spatula). That makes 8 variations total.. Shown here are the Brown and Green smooth bone.

jb4570 if that early 'Lacy' has a satin finish blade its its one of 16 to 18..The shieth's for the early DY knives are extremely rare..I'm still looking for one.

An expert in DY give me the below info
“prior to the standard Lacy 112 in 1982, between 1980 to 1983 David did approximately 60 Fancy Lacy 112s. This edition was on the satin blade, patterns were similar but all are not the same and was an upgrade design that came with a hand made leather sheath also done by David.”

farm the 'Fancy Lacy's' had a sunface engraved on the bolsters..I don't think all came with a shieth either. The handmade Yellowhorse shieth had a snap with turquoise and were fairly simple but I have never seen one in hand and have only seen a picture of just one. I took my used satin finish blade Lacy to the Blade Show in 2009(?) and a Dealer there with way over 100 fancy Yellowhorse knives of all kinds offered $600.00 in trade for any one he had but I turned it down. It was him who told me that only 16 to 18 of the regular non fancy ones were made. The story I got was David bought a standard 3 or 4 dot 112 from his Dad's store and did the conversion. Gene Merritt is our expert..maybe he will set us straight. I do know during that time one of his stamps broke and that can be a clue on very early and early Lacy's. I once seen a Ebay listing years ago that had a early box from that era. It was cardboard.

This is the earliest David Yellowhorse knife that I own.
