Any Michael Savage fans here? He's always saying he has 'millions of listeners'...let's see how many I can dig up here:D

He's pretty funny to listen to, occasionally.

Unintentionally funny.

But he's not an intellectual dope, like so many other
radio talkers.

Every so often when I'm driving with other people in the car, I put him on the radio. It's a contest to see who gives in first and turns the station.

I listen to him at work a couple nights a week. I honestly think the guy is off his rocker.

Often he'll be discussing current events, and I think, "Hmmm, although I don't agree with him all the time, he knows what he's talking about." Then in the next breath he'll start screaming about deporting or jailing reporters who criticize the administration's policy in Iraq. (Because, of course, that's sedition... giving aid and comfort to the enemy and demoralizing our troops). Then he'll make sense for awhile, then suddenly go off on how his poodle should be allowed to come into the restuarant and eat with him. Somewhere in between, he'll surely remind you that he's the greatest author alive, and you should go buy his latest bestseller first chance you get. Or at least buy a "Savage Nation" baseball cap from his on-again-off-again website, to show you're a true patriot.

I will say, though, that he's one of the very few talk show guys who doesn't just parrot one party line or another. And sometimes he's really funny. Both intentionally and unintentionally... sometimes in the same sentence...

The running joke at work is, "Gee, I wonder if Michael's angry tonight."

I listen to him every chance I get , he is one of my favorite talk radio hosts , I see his sarcasm as humor and I think he makes some good points , sometimes he goes a little over the top though.
What's funny too is the fact that he lives in the Bay Area , I do not know how he manages that, would drive me nuts... :D

I listen to him occasionally, sometimes it seems like he is the only fiqure head in this country that really gets it. Listening to one show will not give you a good snapshot of his philosophy.

I listen to the tail end of his show, actually, its just background noise, while I'm waiting for the Coast to Coast AM show to come on if I'm working late. He's too out there for me.

No offense, but I HAVE to comment on this. Savage is "too out there" for you, but UFO's, ghost stories, and discussions about how aliens hired by the Mafia killed JFK aren't?!? That's pretty funny.

Dudes , Coast to Coast RULES. There is no more entertaining and thought provoking a show on the AM than C2C (Art Bell same basically).

Just because you listen to it doesnt mean you have to believe it all................................

Exactly. I've adopted the notion that I shouldn't discount everything, but I don't believe in all the crap spewed on Coast to Coast. Just because George Noory and Art Bell believe it doesn't mean I like the show because of them. I think it's entertaining, sometimes sad, to listen to these outlandish stories. BTW, my favorite portion of Coast to Coast is when the nuts call in about alien abductions, ghosts etc.

George seems to belive everything anyone says, and if a caller calls up and challenges a guest, he's cut off rather quick. Art on the other hand kinda plays callers and gets them going, and challenges them (usually sarcastically).

I used to listen to C2C when an interesting guest was on talking about hydrogen fuel, Jim Berklund and few other mostly sane guests. But I quickly realized the show was nothing more then an outlet for almost every wack job to pitch thier new book. These people would never get past the producers on the regular networks.

But with C2C everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has an outlet to be heard. I can pick and choose who to listen to.

Speaking of whackjobs, has anyone ever heard of Derry Brownfield? My dad listens to him whenever he can. I think he's nuts but I also agree with him on some issues.

Savage is always good for a laugh though. Even if i do agree with him most of the time. I think its his demeanor. Its sort of like someone crossed a televangelist with a cab driver.
