I have had a ton of knives pass through my collection over the years. I have had and used everything from cheap Buck knives to high end knives such as the sebenza. And I must say, the sebenza is an awesome knife. But looking at it as a user, the price to performance just didn't add up. Its been a while since I sold my sebenza, but I would like to mention a new addition to my knife collection that will no be leaving- which I feel is a direct comparison to the sebenza. The new Spyderco sage. In my eyes, other than a slight disadvantage in blade length, this knife wins out over the CR in every department. First and foremost- cutting performance (the main purpose of a knife). This is simple, the sage cuts a hell of a lot better. It is extremely easy to get and maintain an absolutely razor sharp edge. The handle- both made of Ti, but the addition of the finger choil adds a huge amount to the grip of the knife and makes it so accidentally closing on your thumb while closing impossible. It is just as solid and smooth as the CR (maybe I had a bad one, but it sure was not as smooth as some say). And that brings me to the pocket clip... Again, I have had tons of knives that I have used for my edc and the simple Spyderco wire clip can not be beat for this purpose, much better and understated than a piece of gray titanium and chunk of handle sticking out of your pocket. Anyway, just my opinion... the sebenza was great, but this knife serves me better in every way as an edc blade. Just my 2 cents.
