• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

THE SHEATH .......Just maybe the most important part of the equation :)

Cool thread! I think the phrase, "understated but screams quality", is right on the money. A good tool doesn't always need "bells & whistles" to exude quality. Sometimes, making something that has everything it needs and nothing else, is an art in and of itself.

Of course I am just teasing. Joe's affection for his Huraks are well known and for good reason. Careful thought definitely goes into designing an effective sheath. I'm surprised sheaths don't get the spotlight more often.

We all know you were Paul is just having some fun :)

Well put :)

Very cool to see the different variations of the Hurak sheath, the one Jeremy at 8 ball did for me is similar. Great knives and great sheaths.

Great thread. l enjoy reading about subject matter I am passionate about that are written with even more passion. Thanks for sharing once again Joe.

I will admit that when I get a sheath from Paul, it's usually fancified with tooling and inlays and such. Which doesn't make them any less, functional of course.

But here's a Long sheath that's all business for a knife that's all business:

And of course, bells and whistles (or beads and fringes) are sometimes exactly what's called for:
