The Sher 'attitude' special deals for 12/04 -- Pix and real steals.

What a weekend to take off from the forum! :( Was too damned busy to even check in.

Hope more come along...

Don't fret Norm...you have no more self space for any more khukuris...

Oh, no worries! There's plenty of space left on the wall and closet racks I built. I'm just getting started...

Of course, as has been pointed out twice already, collecting more than I "need" is greedy and will lead to bad karma, but such is my cross to bear!

I'll muddle through somehow.

If you really mean Self space, Nasty, I'll have to ponder that for a moment. Now, does Norm have enough self for more Khukuris? I never thought about that before... Just kidding, but it is a fun concept.

Norm, I want to emphasis to you in particular that the Attitude Special looks much better in one's hands, much more so than other khuks. I don't think it photographs as well as most khuks. But when it's in your hand, it has a beauty, like a large straight razor...Gee!

It is a unique design, that's for sure. 18" seems to be just the perfect length, and I really like the belled chitlangi-style handle. Looks like a comfortable knife. Yangdu says the kami's are making more, so it appears that they are keeping busy keeping us in stock with all these new designs. Neat stuff.

Mail just got delivered & a triiangular box met me at the door.

This be a nice blade
Sher deserves high praise for this design

Still, not quite a khuk to me
which must be why he left off the cho/kauri
[although John Powell's article at Swordforums indicates
that not all Nepali Khuks (particularely OLD ones) have a kauri:
"Nepalese kukris after 1800 will always have a notch or kauri commonly referred to as a cho cut into the blade directly in front of the grip and bolster. "]

Got #1 from pic above
in hand it seems an inch or so longer than I expected
Really like the bell-butt grip--though it's not quite as big as I prefer

Not being a martial guy,
my first thought was that here was a great yard & garden blade
Just because of its 'plain-ness'
I think it will appear more like a common machete to most passing folk.

But there's no doubt
that this model will chop & slice
in the range of any other kukri of similar size & weight

The sheath fit is great
the tiny extraction hangup likely could be cured
by loosening the mouth at the edge -very- slighty
&/or by angling the mouth a bit more sharply more toward the tip---
maybe another 1/4".

I like it even more than I expected
& look forward to trying it out on wood very soon.

Excellence.
