The Silence of The Lambsfoot

Gun show huh? Looks like you've had no trouble adapting to your new home. :D

Actually it was one in Aus...guns aren't totally banned in Aus but the few they let you have (a lot of old boxed english rifles) are highly restricted and insanely expensive. But yes I have, carry a 1911 already haha.

I liked the shows there because Sheffield knives were plentiful, I don't see many over here but keep my eyes peeled for them.

I dunno about you blokes but I feel like a glass of chianti and some fava beans fflsssffflsssffflss.

Here is a quick scan of a lambsfoot knife to add to the thread.

Two nice Lambfoots, Robert and Russell!!
Pretty rare amongst a whole lot of Wharncliffes and Sheepfoots on the Forums.

Have any other blades traditionally (heh) warranted the boldly-marked "real" designation, either as a marketing tool or based on other reasoning?

Pre-ban Bark.
Not as quiet as a lamb (trying to segue back to the topic . . . . .)

;) Since I have it in my pocket today, here's a pic of the silent Lambsfoot I bought in Malton the other day. Not the best example of the pattern it has to be said, but please keep your Lambsfoot pics coming folks :)

The subtle taper of the Real Lambsfoot.

I picked up one of those Case Copperheads after seeing it in another thread, it's a sweet knife. Case's wharncliffes have a unique shape, I like 'em ! Trouble is I'm always looking for more, like the mini trapper with "lambcliffe' secondary, and that blue bone, sweet knife ~P!

Great thread. I like how you can take some time to visit your surrounding towns, even better that they have knife shops there. I faintly remember there being a shop in the next city over from where I live that makes custom stone handles on production knives. Maybe I'll have to venture there some day to find out about it.

I just hapend to take a pic of my large Stockman today that had the sheep's' foot out on it.

I've read somewhere the 'Real lambs foot' marking was originally an indicator that the handle was made of genuine lambs hoof. That may be pants of course but I did read it somewhere.
