The smallest of the small

Small, smaller, smallest:

My reward, of my choosing, for 10 years of hard work at a major medical center...They are greatly generous! But I do love this little Buck, it's perfect for dress wear and stays crazy sharp!

That is a cool little Buck! Generally you think of Buck lockbacks as these big honkin' folders that go on your belt, but that one is just a little chip of a thing. I may have to grab one of those myself. :o

Small, smaller, smallest:
:)

Nice collection of compact cutlery. :D That blade shape is a strange one on the second knife from the top, sort of a modified clip with the edge and belly of a pen. Was it originally a watch fob knife, as per what appear to be holes for a missing bale?

Smallest in collection (about 1.5" long, folded):
Smallest I carry every day:

I wonder how they expect anybody to read the writing on the side of that tiny knife. Good stuff! :)

Those peanut guys ain't got nothin' on this thread. :D

No, in the world of small, we have some winners here!:thumb up:

As The Grand High Muckba of The Cult, I bow down to the ultra small.

But for the nano knives of Nontron, I get down on my knees to kowtow!

That has to be the world's smallest working scout, and in bone no less? Awesome knife!

Indeed, Karl, I feel like Gulliver in comparison to some of these Lilliputian blades! :o

Al Mar Osprey. 1.65" blade, 3.95" overall when opened

Tiny, yet classy. What kind of wood are those handles?

Some that I wish I had:

I just wonder if it's better to crossdraw those little fixed blades or stick with the vertical draw. :D

I very much like the small ones. Some of mine:

An 85 for comparison:

That's a reproduction of George Washington’s penknife, a miniature version made by Camillus and sold at the 1939 World’s Fair. In addition to the missing bail, the ink in George’s signature has worn off.:o

Gotta love it. Custom micro-pens and shrimpy stilettos. There's a whole new world to these tiny ticklers! :D

TY. :) It's a traditional Hungarian child knife. Kis Maskara. Dates end of the 60's.

Very nice knives, Jolipapa!

FYI this that friction folder is called “bugyli”, which means ‘folder knife’, or also “bugylibicska” (which is literally ‘folder folding knife’), and is used to denote exclusively this type of wood handled friction folders.

It was a mass produced cheap pocketknife made by Hungarian or Austrian makers in the 18th-20th centuries.
Besides being the children’s typical first pocketknife, it was frequently the only pocketknife the poor could afford.

After WWII it was sold only as a tourist souvenir.

The ‘Maskara bicska’ you mentioned is actually a slip joint pattern, a folder on a serpentine frame with a single clip point blade:

The ‘kis maskara’ is the smallest size offered, usually it is around 3 1/4” or so closed:

This Imperial is the smallest I own. I used to have a full-sized one that matched it, but I lost it. (I think they were cheap Walmart blister pack knives, bought 'em maybe 15 years ago.)

Case Pen Knife for scale.
