The Smartest Guy at the Table....hmmm

:D :D :D :D

Congrats to your daughter, Rubi!

And to think the best one I got lately happened at the Blade show. I had my knife in my hand when some guy says to his friend, "Hey, she's got a REAL Hinderer!"

I bet it was blue.

As for Hinderers at Blade...they are there and in a surprising "abundance".

"You" see, it's a gathering of knife-people and many, many, many I spoke with have a (or multiple) Hinderers.

Some pieces that make ears hurt listening to what you know they are truthfully confessing to own.

I met guys with some of Rick's early work...earlier than the XM. And I know where atleast 4 of the TDI Wharnie fixed blades wound up even though I didn't even see one this year.

That was why that comment surprised me there. In the sand box, when I pulled out a Hinderer I was surrounded by Gerbers and Spydies. At the Blade show a 'real' Hinderer was just another Hinderer.

Of course it was blue, I've posted pics of it here. Or was it you that made that comment?

Nope...wasn't me who said those words.

But I did see someone deploy a blue XM at one of the lotteries.

If you think it was me, PM a description of me or the knife. If you care to.

I pay far more attention to people's hands and posture/similar than to other attribute...no threat, less attention.

So, here's the general overview...blue XM came out in the hands of a female who then did some basic nail care.

Was overheard talking about trading/selling in and out of things and mention of UG Sebenzas and such.

If it wasn't you, that person has a lot of common interests.

You think like me. If that was me, your presence didn't set off danger signals, so I didn't take special note beyond proximity to me and others I was with at the moment.

I don't know if that was me or not. I sometimes clean my nails with my XM, I'm fanatical about them being clean. The only person that I know for sure identified me saw me sitting against a rail flipping an old Filipino Balisong.

Got my first one at blade from a dealer near Rick's booth. Super nice guy and I wanted to send him a thank you but couldn't figure out who he was when I got home using the blade magazine. Was Spanish I think and his wife was at the table also. He had several hinderers and was selling them at a great price. I know he was walking over and getting them right from Rob and the guys but I didn't want to email Rob about em cause I know those guys are busy.

How much was he selling them for?

PM'd you... Yeah it was a great price and he and his wife were very nice.
That was probably Pedro. Can't remember his last name but I think he was also a fireman like Rick. They have been friends for a long time.

Ah kewl. Is he a dealer? You have his info? I was bummed when I couldn't figure out from the show book who he was. It was my first knife show and I was blown away by how friendly and stand up most the people I met there were. Love the knife community.

Yes, he's a dealer. Don't think he has a website though. When R and R get back from TDI I'll get some more info for ya.

Dude I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. My girlfriend and I have talked about it several times since the show. He was super cool and held something for me and gave me a great deal and I wanted to send him a personal thank you. Didn't think I'd be able to locate him. Right post at the right time. :D
