The smell of the RAT

the problem with smell is this! 90% of the sense of smell comes from the rearest tastebuds on your tounge, so the next time you smell a fart you actually tasted ass. just sayin.

LOL sounds more like you would be choking on it. Nothing wrong with a little brown eye once in a while:D
 
I was actually gonna post something about this....Mine smells a little like bleach and hoppes.

I'm sure itll wear off once it gets some dirt and other crap mashed into the handle but it is pretty strong since the knife is only a week old.
 
It has been a while sense I used Tuf-Glide but I had a wipe in the safe so I used it on some satin Busse Combat last night.The smell is Tuf-Glide.
 
well i had taken mine out to smell it, just to make sure :D, and it didn't really smell like anything.

just thought I would bring a little scientific knowledge to the matter, I should have known it would be met with a childish comment! but I shall not respond to comments like this anymore, I have better things to spend my time on.
 
When I got my Izula from KSF I noticed right away the smell of Tuff Cloth. In fact I could even see it along the whole length of the blade. When I got my RC-3 early last year from another vendor there was no Tuff glide smell. I wonder if its something KSF does before shipping?

i doubt it. the RC3 could have sat around awhile

On my HEST it was the Micarta that had an unpleasent smell. But it wears of pretty fast.
 
RAT's smell like Hoppe's? This is fantastic news!

I plan on buying a Izula or RC3 in the next day or two and I'm a little worried about my wife's backlash. The Hoppe's smell will calm her down a little. She swears that I wore Hoppe's as aftershave when we met 13 years ago. (I was a serious gun whore) Now the smell of Hoppe's is like an aphrodisiac.

It's going to be a great week. ;)
 
I noticed two distinct smells on the RC-4. The handle micarta and the blade which was either the powder coat or tuf-glide.

Nope. We don't do anything to them but package them up and send them out....oh yeah and a lot of inventorying of them.

That is so BS, we all know you add an addictive substance to them before packaging, that makes us crave for them nightly.-what movie?
