If you have renter's insurance, you might be covered. If not, you're pretty much screwed.

Like you said, who ya gonna sue, the moron that fired the shot? I doubt that he has a stash of cash, or liability coverage for slingin' lead around. If you ask nicely, the DA might use the damage to put an extra charge on him for plea-bargaining purposes and get you a judgement against him.... but good luck collecting on that.

do mention it to the cops :D

now, the guy had enough something to own a gun... hey, put a lien on the gun ;)

and he probably had a car or property or SOMETHING... mmm. maybe he needs to have that stuff seized ;)

Yeah, a Bernese mountain dog. He's my grandson's birthday present and he named him Murphy after Robocop. Really is a cute dog.

i read that as Burmese and was thinking snake... poodle. mmm.

I think you should not go there....especially considering what snozberries is actually a reference to......

exactly!

best smuggled dirty thing in a movie in a long time

almost as good as the "chicken hawk" in the muppets :D

Even if... the state always gets their share first, and there's seldom anything left. I've seen this kinda thing happen before, from simple ripoffs to people actually getting hurt... WW ain't gettin' doodly but a fouled-up stuffed bunny and a story to tell. Sucks, but that's how it goes.

Now if the moron who unleashed that "stray bullet"* happened to own a major company or a boatload of land or stocks or other form of serious wealth... that would be a different story. WW would have lawyers crawling up his backdoor begging to make a case for a civil suit by now. Ka-CHING.

* As my uncle the USMC grunt Vietnam vet used to say, "There's no such thing as a stray bullet. Some &(^)%($(# shot it at you."

when the Watertown MA police helpfully fired something like 200 rounds at a boat, shooting their own people in the process, nearly killing one of them... the owner of the boat was basically told "boat is evidence now, screw you"... the internet came forth and basically got him 2-3x? the value of the boat as a gift... can't be butt hurt about that. people are good. the police however, didn't patch a single hole they cause. they are supremely lucky they didn't shoot neighbors and eps kids. the damage from the flashbangs to neighboring properties is just cake.

i wonder if you can get a tax write off for property damage like that ;)

Maybe I should get a boat, get the fuzz to blast it a bit, and then post it up on the internet and make some dough.

Heck, I could just get some of that flexseal stuff that's on tv all the time and patch up the boat, then I'd have a boat and money.

I found out the guy that fired the shot, who is now in jail, is in his 40s and supposedly lives in his mommas house when he is not in jail, apparently he is no stranger to getting locked up (not that i had doubts) But he has at least 1 felony already from what a neighbor told me... So im thinking id get nothing, but i am also thinking he is fixing to serve a few years in prison at least for shooting my stuffed animal...

The crazy thing is im not sure he even knows the bullet went into our house. It would be almost comical to go and visit him once he got sentenced and take the stuffed animal and show him what he is serving time for... But do it right before i move to florida so i dont have a team of thugs shoot up my entire house or some crap LOL

That's cruel and hilarious at the same time. Who knows, it might give the poor deluded SOB pause to think, "How in the heck did I let my BS go so far, that murdering a perfectly innocent stuffed bunny got me locked down in this hell-hole?"

You might just help save a human's soul, in the long run.

More likely, he's already too far gone to give a fat flying leap at a bale of barbed-wire that he nearly shot an innocent kid, and a few more months locked up with other animals isn't super likely to make him more sensitive to that terrible concept.

Perhaps my overall faith in humanity has eroded over the years... once dipsticks start slingin' lead around residential neighborhoods, I rapidly run out of patience for their deeper psychological issues. If there was a rabid, child-biting dog in my 'hood, there's no question what I would do about it...

Back on real... I think if it was me, I'd just get me and mine the hell out of there ASAP like you've planned already, and let the chips fall where they may for those other trigger-happy nitwits. *shrug*

for comic value, show up at the trial, and try to get a chance to talk ;)

guy should go up for multiple attempted mansalugher, hunting without a license, shooting a stuff animal out of season, using the wrong caliber, and anything that sticks. best keep him in the system forever.

this has nothing to do with anything or anyone here, but my pal cooper posted it elsewhere and it's just plain funny, so i had to share it....

speaking of get-rich-quik schemes, someone needs to market a version of cheap clear vodka or 'shine and call it "winder likker"....

That made me laugh!!:)

ARRRGH. For some reason, my fingerprint scanner on my phone stopped working, and it only shows the alternative password option (which I remember), but it won't take my alternative password either. I know exactly what I used for it, and it's not working. Tried locking it remotely via ADM, but it doesn't give me the option to enter a password with that either. Can't really do business without my phone. Really frustrated...

Headed out of town to see Misti's brother Curt. Ever since he was diagnosed with lung cancer he has been in and out of the hospital. He will be really good and making progress and then goes downhill for a while. He's back in the hospital again and they aren't sure if he is gonna make it out again. A few prayers or some smoke for him would be appreciated.

That's a rough one AC. Going to take some strength on everybody's part. Best wishes for you man.

Well said and i agree. Our plan is just as you described as well.

Thanks guys. It means a lot. As of right now, its not sounding very good. He has pulled through a few times, so hopefully he can do it again.
