Desert Dagger is great. Wanted one for years, and then this summer finally broke down and got one. I love the way the light plays on the blade. And I agree with the article in that the sheath that comes with it is a bit iffy, but the blade itself is superb.
I just finished making a "Kill Bill"-like sheath for a friend of mine, and a simpler one for myself, so now we're both happy campers...
WOW, very nice sheath !!
I just couldn't think of anything else to say that hadn't already been said.... no kidding, all that leather work is beautiful !!
I said it first , besides, you already have enough SOGs to test, I only have a couple, and I need one of them DDs to test.
I test mine different than you do, I test mine wrapped up in a socky and stored for safe keeping.
DD is such a beautiful knife, I bought it after seing kill bill. Though it was blunt and I wasn't happy with the 'toy' sheath it came with so returned it...probally for the better as I'm a student and couldn't 'really' afford it. The customer service I got from SOG was exceptional and even though I thought the sheath it came with was a joke I would defiantly buy from SOG again because all companys mess up sometimes but you know when you've picked a good one depending on customer service.
I have been considering to buy one for some time, but I'm dettered by those small, saw-like serrations, and the fact there are different type of serrations on the blade.
Can anyone tell me, which double edged knife would be better choice as a product and as a fighting knife? A Dessert Dagger or a Cold Steel's Tai pan?
I don't think there would be any question, the DD hands down for a good product, could not answer as to a fighter, but the serrations are a plus to me, and the knife is an overall work of art.
