I’ve been wanting to make a smaller version of my Spike for some time now, and here it is! Introducing the Mini Spike from 5/32” thick CPM Magnacut! Eventually I will be making these from AEB-L stainless, but I wanted to kick the introduction off with something really special.
The Mini Spike is 7 1/4” in overall length with a 3“ cutting edge. The grind is a compound hollow with flat ground tip for strength. Nice long swedge on top of spine. This one is acid etched and tumbled and finished off with Hunter Green G-10 scales, Blue G-10 liners and Toxic Green G-10 pins. Comes with custom kydex sheath with belt clip.
Knife was heat treated and tempered in Evenheat electronically controlled kiln to achieve 61/62 Rockwell. Quenched in Parks after 25 minute soak at 2,025 Farenheit.
