My method works pretty well for me, faster than almost any other one-hand method except for maybe an auto knife.
I pinch the hole securely between my thumb and index finger. As I raise my hand out of my pocket, the tip faces up, and the hole is towards me, the handle is away from me. I flick my wrist out and down. This flicks the handle away from the blade. Then my fingers close on the handle.
What doesn't work for me is the "thumb-stud" method, where you hold the knife while using your thumb to rotate the blade out. I never really liked that method, so I haven't really been interested in knives with thumb-studs. Up to the last few weeks, I've been carrying classic slipjoints for many years!
What's your method?
