The Stinky Skunk Warden

Man that looks SO nice!

We need a tutorial now about re-attaching the scales...

There is a really good tutorial from Wicked a while back on reattaching scales. Does anyone have it bookmarked? I have a slightly modified screw head that makes life easier to flare the tubing. That is until I find the right countersink die.

thombrogan, Infi Dust is good stuff man

Thanks MD13! That is it!

I didn't even know or remember that Grinducci had a tutorial on removing the scales. I must have missed that one somehow. My Bad!

That one is also excellent Ducci!!!!

No problem. Both are great tutorials. I have a warden to rehandle soon when I find the right handle material and I'm sure I'll be using both those links. Ducci and Wicked did excellent jobs. (So did you with the satin BIBB :D )

So you do not intend to use the original handle slabs? I have thought about putting new handle slabs but couldn't justify throwing the old slabs when they are fully functional. Do you plan on doing the flare rivets or the screw on type fasteners?

BTW, I just got to use my skunk warden at the job site today. I used it to open 10+ caulking tubes. It sliced right through like butter. It performed just as well as those thin utility blades. Try to cut through the tubes in one shot with a regular knife and you will see that it will easily get wedged.

I modded the handles on my Fire Warden a while back by adding grooves to them like the eu handle grooves. I didn't know how to do tube fasteners, so I used countersunk brass screws. What I'd like to do is media blast the blade (it's my user at work, so it's a little beat up looking.), and put some nice handle slabs on. I found a place that has buffalo horn that I'd like to try. :D

Wow buffalo horn for a user  Nice! You will need to countersink those handle slabs with a countersink cutter from the hardware store. Remember to show us some pics when you are done.

Already got my countersink ready to go. :D (80 Deg I believe) I just need to get off my butt and and get cracking.
