This thread reminded me of my AK bowie, Chiruwa style. I found a very thin grain line at the bottom of cho (1/8" or less) though I'm not worried about mine to break off.
If this was caused by same reason as recent incidents, I guess warning kamis to take care of AK bowies as well as AKs will benefit.
