The Sunday Picture Show... (1-15-2017) ... Old Show...

Another Sunday, another show. Thank you, Armand, for another picture show. I don't have a Batman and especially not one from Saratoga, the band. So I have to dig out another picture. Here's the 507 with mop scales. The black one has artificial scales.

Thank You ITE for starting another Greatest Show. The forums are always having pictures and questions about patina on the blades and handles. I want to share a couple of pictures of real patina on a bronze Korean school bell with of course a Buck knife to give a scale of the size of the bell.

Saratoga! I'm not familiar with the band but I grew up near Saratoga, NY. Here's my submission, a 701 I picked up a couple months ago. I carried it to work Friday and it did its job well.

Nice show everyone. I'll offer this buildout with pink ion blade from a few years back. Definitely different.

More wonderful Buck knives on display.Congratulations to all of the owners.

Here is one of the David Yellowhorse knives that I've been fortunate to find.

Good day to all. Here are a few 700's before I take off for the day.

Here in Oregon we got 11" of snow Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning so it is really a beautiful sight. It has not been above freezing yet so the snow is still around but expected to warm up and melt starting tomorrow.
Rare for us to get this much snow in my area.

6 deer in the woods behind my place wishing it would warm up a bit as well.

Thanks again for the SPS Armand! Sometimes I'll go back a few years and visit past SPS and there is always a special Buck that I have never seen or even heard of..We had one of the last gigs as 'Saratoga' last night. We're reforming with a new drummer and our new name will be 'Katillac Jack' .You would not believe how much time and effort it took 4 adults to come up with a band name that was not used already or that made any sense and sounded cool. I bet that would look good on a stag 124!

Thanks again ITE for putting this together. It's one of things I look forward to seeing each Sunday! Great knives again everyone!

@Makael, if you come across another of those Hood boot knives you want to part with, let me know...

I found some time to work on another project knife. This started as a 50th anniversary Chairman 110. This frame was going to get a feather Damascus blade by Gran Leavitt, but I elected to reuse the 50th blade.

I started by milling off the rear bolsters. The handles are Natural Abalone with clear acrylic buildup. After looking at white and blue G10 for a liner, I decided to use black which really brought this stuff to life with darker black and richer blues. The photos really don't do this stuff much justice. It's probably the prettiest knife I've done.

Looking for a NIB, or good user Buck Mayo TNT.

Great show today, gentlemen. Thank you Armand for another SPS!

Here is my humble collection thus far. I have been greatly enjoying using my 124 (the one with the sanded micarta). I still need to make a shield for my 307 I was gifted.

Vanguards are one of my favorites to collect. They were new in the 1991 catalog but did not hit the stores until late that year so there are not as many 1991's to be found. Here is a 1991 (+) Vanguard in as nice of condition as you would like to find with a particularly attractive Dymondwood handle.

110 with very dark Macassar Ebony Dymondwood handles, Nickel Silver frame, and a D2 blade. The tang has a 2013 BCCI stamp. I have some questions about this knife which I will post in a separate thread.

So you SEE THE LIGH and are JUST TRYING. I am confused what it is you are TRYING to do. I am hoping you're not going postal on us. Look, I have been reading this blog for 10 years and only rarely post. Lots of times when I post I can see many views but no comments on my post. First instinct I had was to take it personal but I realized, some folks have comments on certain knives/topics and at times they do not. Lot are like me that just view/read the blog and never really comment. Also a lot of the frequent posters know each other for years and are more inclined to talk to each other. May make us feel like chopped liver but it is not meant to. These are the nicest guys to deal with. I and others that have felt a little left out as newcomers should probably make a better effort to always reply to other new and infrequent posters to make sure they never feel left out. May want to stand down for the day and come back tomorrow. Again, you will not find a better bunch of folks than you will find here. Semper Fi

Hey everyone, What's the deal here, have we been invaded by a virus ? Early posts in this old thread look odd on my screen is everyone seeing the same thing. Humor follows : Do you think I need to contact Moderator High Command to repel invaders ?
