The Sunday Picture Show... (1-18-2015)

I just bought my first Buck 110 today-a 50th Anniversary model in a clam pack. I've been debating if I should open it and throw away the clam pack, save the clam pack, or not even open it:

I'm leaning towards opening it and putting it on my hip. What is y'all's opinion on it; what would you do?

I also have some cheap Buck knives I picked up earlier this week, as well as my daily work carrier for the last 15 years-a China made Bantam 285:

Thank you Armand for another great SPS. Sorry for getting here so late in the show.

Great pictures everyone and thanks for posting them on here for all to see.

Here is a Buck 110 stag damascus with the original sheath, paperwork, and beat up box.

A 532 Bucklock with a handle of Impala Bone and Burlwood c.2004
The COA clearly states "Impala Bone" but it sure looks like jigged Buffalo horn to me.

Here are some Paperstone Rangers, all from 2010. I know I have 3 more somewhere but can't find them. Time to organize.

TOP: 112BO2 Black Paperstone with 450 blade
MIDDLE: 112GRSSM Father/Son for Smoky Mountain. Green Paperstone with a 450 blade. CJ and Josh signature blade etch. The color is not uniform, anyone know a fix for that?
BOTTOM: 112GRS4 Serrated. Green Paperstone.

Feel like showing off my humble 500 series even after seeing those gorgeous micarta 500s! Lots of great knives as usual this week!

I vote for opening that clamshell and using that new Buck knife!

I'd buy another, one to keep & 1 to use. They're cheap enough.

Great show folks,

Enjoying seeing all your Buck knives. Thanks to all for sharing and to Armand for doing this every week for everyone.

Roger, the way it was explained to me is that real impala horn has too small a diameter, too thin, curved and difficult to use except for the smallest knife handles.
I would imagine that even as small as a 532 is, Impala horn would be much rounder.
When I buy handle material that looks like that it is called Impala jigged buffalo horn.
I think it had to have been a mistake to call it Impala bone. Mistakes have happened before. :)

bsczar1, open that knife and use it - so many were made it will be years before an unopened one has enough value to pay the rent - enjoy it, it's a great knife. OH

Yeah, I thought about it for a bit last night and then remembered every 110 made in 2014 has the emblem, so I promptly took it out and put it in its permanent place on my hip. I think I may bring myself to throw the clamshell out tonight. They are cheap enough I could just go buy another one if I feel an inkling to.
