The Sunday Picture Show... (10-12-2014)

Stumps, those 50th annv 110's look nice. Well most folks have seen this picture but since its now Oct I feel like posting it. I hope one day to be able to get over here and become active. Its been a heck of a busy and fast year.

Looks like we have a great show started this Sunday of some fantastic Buck Knives.

For this week I have a couple David Yellowhorse customized Buck Kalinga's. Both are new in the box and until this morning they were still sealed and unopened. They come with wood display / storage boxes.

And for somewhat of a wildlife picture I have a few pictures of the inside of my brothers shop yesterday. Some would call him a bit of a horder or is it excessive compulsive disorder.

I like them for the most part, but Buck got the thumb studs wrong and that's what I see when I look at them. They are impossible to use as intended.
That bothers me enough that I am going to have to get with Buck and see if they have a fix in mind to make them right.

A ball end mill would fix that right up .......

Newly-acquired 112s:

Another member of my Class of 94 w silver bolsters:

Plus a '95:

So here's my '94 collection thus far:

Still eluding me are the 505, 112 finger groove in brass and silver, 110 in silver (I've glimpsed one in the wild), and the 110 FGs.

I'm seriously starting to think there were no 505s made that year.

A couple weeks ago I posted some pictures of a 119 in stag. Here is another stag 119 but this time it is one with a mirror polished blade.

And a couple deer that were in my back yard last night that did not like their pictures taken. With the rain returning here in Oregon things are really greening quick.

I haven't bought any knives in awhile so I used my BCCI discount with Buck.
Here I have pictured my three paradigms . The avid one with Micarta is the one I just bought , The Damascus one was the last knife I bought in early August.
Just so happens that the Damascus knife never seemed to open correctly . It never had that snap to it . The following pictures are not for the faint of heart. I took apart my +$200.00 knife to see if I could fix it.

After disassembling and reassembling twice I figured out the problem. Now it works like the others better than new :D

Another new one for this week

Another knife I got on discount .
Gotta say I have mixed feelings on this knife , I wanted to like it but I was on the fence. I bought it because I could get it on discount.
I like the opening action and the lock up. I don't like however how hard it is to unlock the knife or how the blade move so freely that when not on lock the blade flops down. ask me how I know . I was trying different ways to close it and I got bit  . Lets say on the plus side it is SHARP !

Lots of great Bucks on the SPS as usual!

Got the Lochsa in this week. It is indeed a really nice piece.

Haven't seen too many Nighthawks on the Greatest show on the Earth, so I thought I would take out my 655 and take advantage of a beautiful day in the Low Country.

Boy what a show, thank you very much ITE for continuing with the show. This week I did not have any adult supervision so Knife time!!!
This is one I have had and finished this week a 119 in birds eye maple, found some micarta in the scrap bin at work a little thick but I am a little thick also of mind and body, it works for me.

The last two have seen considerable EDC time in the last week

last is my EDC board, fun to cycle through the different styles as the mood hits

For wild life I have a Marlin in Iron wood, I'll butcher it for scales soon. Not sure of exact wood but nice grain and heave enough.

Great show so far thanks to everyone for the beautiful pictures

Thank you to my buddy Jerad for the Ruger 110. My first Nickel bolster 110  I don't know why they put the logo on upside down...

Here's a Sweet gold etch 110...

The pictures do not do this Beautiful 110 Justice...
I need to take some better pictures of it, for sure...

:)

I will admit becoming a 345 person, may have to have help. I also am hooked on elk scales.

Photo is of a new 340 Elk with mirror polished blade. And a 345 regular bladed elk. I got the little one in Idaho when JAG brought it to sell and the 340 the other day all the way thru Canadian Customs. May have to send the little back to JAG and have him polish it also. I don't ever intend to really "use" them so the 420hc blades are plenty fine, actually with loss of Sandvik in the 345 line, 420hc is gonna always be fine for everything. Nothing against s30v, I just like to take a couple of passes on a strop to get back to sharp on a user........ 300
