The Sunday Picture Show... (10-13-2019) . . . (OLD Show Look at the DATE...)

Here's my old Smith Model 60 with three-inch barrel and sights.......one of the best trail guns ever designed and one that has traveled many happy trails with me. The Buck is a newer Idaho stamped 121 in stag that has a few trails ahead of it......I hope.

That is a beautiful knife. Perfect profile and proportion.

No matter what model Buck you collect once in a while one comes along that captures your attention..and you have to have it. This "Tracks" 112 by Finney Knives was it for me. I first seen it on Facebook months ago. I was a little shocked by the price when I went to Bucks website. Then I went to Mr. Finney's site and took a good look at some of his very special 110's and other models and decided right then to add this 112 to my collection. It took a long time to gather the resources for it and for the Buck Fairy to be in a good mood! I think the hardest part of adding a major knife to my collection is having to pass on lesser, but still nice, 112's I want to add..20191013_180534.jpg 20191013_180516.jpg 20191013_180622.jpg

Well I got to emit it's a sweet and beautiful knife.

I ignored a lot of the fancy inlayed 112's for years..mainly because of cost. For the $300.00 to $600.00 cost a typical Prater or Yellowhorse or similar 112 cost with very careful bidding and/or patience I could add 4 or even more odd and rare 112's to my collection. But now, with over 75 that are display worthy, I am starting to appreciate fancy inlays and filework..and the tremendous amounts of skill and time and plain work it takes to create them. At a BCCI get together at SMKW about 6 years ago I asked Mr. Prater what was the hardest part of making his beautiful knives for Buck. He told me "Buck will send me 100 knives and they expect me to send 100 back!" I told him I would be so stressed out about making a mistake I could never complete 1 without my hands slipping. I'm planning to add a few with stone handles because of the beauty and rarity of that material.
