Now really..... what is the significance of the "E"?

DeSky, some ex-Buck-employees say that the E was a employee Knife... Some say it's like a FB knife that they sell at the Buck Shop... That's all I know about it... ITE

Haebbie, now those are sweet Ultima l Buck knives... I see
alot white pearl ones But not black ones... I don't have one...
Is it a custom one...

No, ITE, it is not a custom one. It is a production knife,
may be a limited edition. I had two black pearl but one
of them I gave away for the golden one.

There are some hints in the Blade Forums like this:

For any 507 collectors, there
were three vrsions of the 507 as I recall; white pearl,
golden pearl and a much smaller number of black pearl.

Bill Keys
Director of Manufacturing and Engineering
Buck Knives Inc.

I would be glad to t be able to tell you more. But
comes time comes more information ... :)
Does anybody know more about the Black Pearl?

Best,
Haebbie

The E means it was sold to employees, because it was a second, it has a flaw of somekind which could not be easily reworked. So they sold it to employees and the profits went to some charity cause.
