The Sunday Picture Show... (10-28-2018) . . . (OLD Show Look at the DATE...)

Guess what Preston.... that IS the correct original sheath for your knife. All the Mates came with that generic looking nylon sheath. /Roger
I sure didn't think so, 'cause of no Buck on the snap and the nylon is finer than I've seen other 600 series . It is a Made In USA sheath and I know you have forgotten more than I ever knew about Buck and their knives. Thanks, Preston

First one I purchased years ago I had the same thought and was going to "pitch it" but fortunately learned better before I did. It is actually a pretty well made nylon sheath with a full plastic liner. /Roger

I certainly appreciate you telling me about this, thanks again. Preston

I did not care for the hybrid nylon/leather sheaths at all. Different tastes...

I thought that as well when I first received one. Then I used it a few times and realized it was far superior than the nylon one which it replaced. It can be carried high or low on the belt.It also has a secondary method of keeping the knife in place and to prevent its loss.

Now I like it more than the original. Although a good leather sheath would be better than either one.

great stuff y'all. enjoyed it stopping in all day off and on.

so here's my contribution. Big thanks to Mike/Makael for helping me get this one and a few others. wife hasn't noticed her vehicle is now wearing a buck sticker as well:) no pic of that though.....20181028_193146.jpg

Sometimes it takes awhile... 4 years 6 months between finding the first and completing the set. Mini Zippers and Vanguards. A 2006 special project for Bass Pro. They are about 1/2" shorter in the blade and handle. Front to back models 686, 687, 688, and 689. Notice they were not marked with model numbers or date codes. Joe Houser did a few limited editions in more recent times based on these blades. I have one somewhere.... (thank you Makael)
