The Sunday Picture Show... (11-11-2012)

OOOPPPPSSS.Yes I meant Idaho. I sure hope I sent it to Idaho. I better check my receipt. Ok just checked yes it is indeed on its way to ID.

Stumps,

That looks like a bull snake to me. They can get pretty big, sometimes 6-7 feet.

I sent the picture of the snake to David and he concurs with you bertl. David said it's a real good snake to have around the farm as they are good ratters.

Thanks Flatlander and bertl!!

I learn a lot about Buck knives here, but I also learn a lot of other stuff.

That snake was pretty long and he seemed to care less that I was walking by.

Roger,
I love your 102, with the extra spacer. I'm a huge fan of the 102 and have all versions made from 1961-1985, and 2 pre factory made 102s. It if my favorite 100 series knife...

Matt, where do the 5 fiber spacers fall timewise? Scott Hartman is also showing 3 different barrel nut 120's this week. The first I assume to be leather spacers. Then there is the 5 fiber spacers like my 102 and the 4 fiber spacer version. Did these all fall in the 1961-62 time frame and did these 3 variations occur in all the 100 series barrel nut models? /Roger

Here's 119 and a 118 3 liner that I got with 10 others 100 series Buck Knives plus the 106 axe in a collection that I bought a few weeks ago... ITE

Thanks Invoice...you reminded me that I forgot my wildlife photo for the week. :)

Now for my wildlife photo for this week's SPS. I was hiking from the Mexican border through New Mexico up to Colorado and ran into this bugger north of the Gila River. I have no idea what kind of snake it is, but he was a pretty good sized one.

Hi All,

For todays show I wanted to post a photo of an M Ivory scaled 112. It took me awhile to locate the knife, then I had to clean off the tarnish and when wiping the bolsters clean I ran my thumb across the blade:eek:. No worry it's a small cut and a little glue and it's closed up, no more leaking blood:o. I get the camera out and the battery is dead:(, put it on the charger. Finally, with the last bit of daylight I snapped a few shots.

This knife needs to be sent off to one of our SPA shops for a little TLC.

This little guy was on my front patio a couple of months ago. It's about 4' long. We call them gopher snakes here but they are bull snakes.
