ITE, I really like the second 110 from the left! Tell us something about that one please.

Here's my first one for today. A CF Vantage.

I worked in the garage a little this week on a number of projects. Here's before and after pictures of a micarta 112 1st version/2nd variation that was one of those projects;

And the after pictures;

It's a nice knife....just too bad the blade was about 1/8" short when I got it. I could shave with it now though. I was even able to make the chip in the micarta that shows up in pictures one and four disappear.

sitflyer and Badhammer....I used a 1"x6" flap sanding wheel on a grinder to take out the scratches out of the blade. I like the way it turned out.

300 Bucks....I'm going to build a new white box this week now that I've got a little more experience using one. Got a couple ideas I want to try so I don't get the frame reflection of the white box showing up in the bolster of the knife.

I thought I’d revisit this custom (by Buck) 124 as it seems to be one of a kind. Below are the two messages I recieved about the knife, the first from the original owner, and the second from Joe Houser.

From the previous owner:

"Dear plumberdv,
Hello Dave, You have a unique # 124. The knife came to me as just a vintage blade, no ricasso, scales or butt cap. I asked Joe Houser at Buck if he could help me out...I had the blade and a pair of micarta scales. I sent it in to Joe, and after much effort by Joe and his craftsmen, the knife you now own was the result. The reassembly of the vintage 124 took quite some time...and I believe it to be basically one of a kind."

From Joe Houser:

"I sure do remember the knife. We dont usually do that sort of thing, and for good reason. 124's from that vintage were put together with a lot of hand work. As a result, you cant easily take parts from one and expect them to fit on another. I hate saying "no" to forum members and agreed to take on the project.
The truth be known, my rework guy, Danny Perretti did the knife. It did take him a few days and several discussion with me to finish it. In fact, at one point, I sent him back to the shop with it. He thought it was done but I pointed out some things I felt should be tinkered with. He is the best at that sort of thing so I felt confident that he could do the job.
I sure hope you like the way it turned out?"

Hi All,

Very nice knives one and all!

I'd like to jack the SPS just a bit and hope Armand and everyone else is ok with that;). I got this knife from our BCCI member Bruce D to send out for some custom work.
I have a set of thick E Ivory slabs to replace the wood scales with....the question is "do I leave the rear bolsters on or make it a bare butt?" Please comment one and all!

Here is a shot of a few other 55's. One of them has a bare butt for visual comparison.

Nice display:thumbup:
I really like that Pteranodon !!

Boy talk about some nice looking knives. Great picture show guys!

Couple of ones that really jumped out at me are the two bathing beauties Jactrades posted. Those slippies on their boxes remind me of two young gals catching some sun back on the farm. Great pictures Jack.

Dave, that lavender background really works well. That CF Vantage and the 124 look great!

Sitflyer, those 112's look beautiful and that resto is superb!

Casey, those pics of your ranger are really, really sharp. The lighting really sets it off.
