The second is an Aurum etching 112 with 2 Cougars. Any idea what year they made these and how many were made. I'm guessing the period is 1974-80 if I'm correct. I don't see these too often.

Wow Armand, fantastic vintage flat-bolt Ruger 77 - even has a vintage steel Weaver mounted on it - both look mint! I don't own a Buck Vanguard but I do have a few firearm/Buck Knife combo photo's. OH

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Vanguards. Thank you so much. I'll try to load a picture of the only two I had if my computer/internet cooperates this morning. Its acting stupid this morning. Anyhow I'm looking forward to the show and hope to add a new Vanguard soon.:D

Thank You ITE for starting another greatest Shoe on Earth. The Vanguard is one of my favorite Buck patterns. Here is a picture of the four I have. The top one I bought at a good price because the tip was broke.

I should of never let these go. The bottom one was an AG I stripped down. It was my second AG. If I get a third one it will not leave. I let them go a few years back when I was getting out of a lot of different knives and was focusing exclusively on another brand. While I still like the other brand I wish I held on to these. There is just something about the Vanguard that floats my boat.:D

Not the best photos but here are my three. I really like the longer bladed model and wish Buck would offer it as a regular production.

Working on Honey-Do's today so no new pics. Vanguards are one of my largest sub collections so I have lots of old pics to repost.

The Vanguard was introduced in the 1991 catalog as an upcoming model not yet in production when the catalog printed. It hit the stores in late 1991. 1992 was the first full year of production though. Here is an early Vanguard with a 1991 date code.

The prettiest piece of wood I've ever seen on a knife.

This is a Ducks Unlimited "Raffle Set" that followed me home from a Gun Show. I found it listed in the 1997 Special Projects list with an issue of 3,002 sets. Not rare but I don't think too many people would have kept the bulky tray. Again, a real PITA to store.

Here is a 686 Mini Zipper and a 687 Mini Vanguard. A special Project for Cabela's in 2006.
Compare the mini to a standard in the 2nd picture.

Another Vanguard for the show. This one is called "Pennsylvania Black Bear. A limited edition of 250 in the year 2000. Lots of features.... bear paw laser cutout, bear head cutout on end of pommel, nickel silver bolsters, a black blade, serialized, and a "Custom" tang stamp. The handle is Buffalo horn hand jigged to look like Impala. I don't care for the handle jigging at all, seems like the ruination of a nice piece of horn and not at all comfortable to fondle in the hand.

The black blade is hard to photo. Here I tried a little silicone shine and chalk in the tang stamp.

This thread makes me smile.:D Ok dumb question for DeSotoSky. Where did you find the Buck display stands?

Hi All, I know this will be another great SPS as the 192 and it's variations are fantastic looking and working knives! Brother Armand thank you for these weekly shows, I always look forward to seeing what comes up here for all to enjoy. Also, a big thank you to all who take the time to post some photo's.....

Here are a few 192's for today's show.

The second cut out is the nicest deer cutout I have ever seen, like the scene, grass is really a nice touch, and I believe there are more deer cut outs than any other animal on buck knives. I might be making that up.... And is the one below it Ivory??? If so, is it for sale/trade???????:D:D:D:eek:

I'll post my only(at least right now) Vanguard in a little while after I get some new pictures. Great Knives so far today. Especially the 2 middle ones in the above picture:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
