I'm sure that 191 blade doesn't say master series on it.

the 420hc master series knives were sample prototypes for the bg-42 master series knife----from what i have seen none of the 420hc blades say master series on them---only the medallion on the handle says master series on the 420hc knives....all of the 420hc blades i have seen have the 1997 date code logo on them...

Thats what the 501 master series is that I posted, blade stamp 1997 and nothing on the blade about it being bg-42.

5 525's I won at auction awhile back as a lot. They are the only ones I have seen with this etching on the backsides.

Anyone know anything about them?

Great!! That's the complete set. This Big Games Series was made for Sportsman's Guide in '95.
Have fun with it. I have four of them, the "Moose" is missing.

Here's my Set of Buck Master Series... The Lady I got this from said it was a photo set...
But it's not stamped photo on it... I've seen some stamped photo on the blade... She worked
for Buck for 26+ years... So it could be a sample / prototype...

I don't think it would be to hard to make a 191 if you have a handle for a 192 or take a part 192... I have the 191 blade and know where a handle is... But I what a 112 Master Series more than anything...

I have the complete master series bg42 set as well as a 119 with smooth green handle. I also have a 501 and I think it says "photo sample" on the box. I will have to look tonight and take a picture or two.

Armand I just knew there 'Had to be' a Master series 112..For years until 2013 I looked for one..You COULD have Leroy make you one if you gave up a loose BG42 blade..
