The 310 Whittler, a modified 309.
Which came first the chicken or the egg.......the 310 has a odd developmental life span. It was first an exclusive by SMKWs as a special project. The earliest date stamp I have seen is 1992. It was in the Buck catalogs 98 thru 2000. The most noteable example is the brown jigged bone Limited Edition ( my fav.), where it was part of a 300 jigged bone set. In its delrin scale dress, it continues to be offered, on and off both from the Buck store, SMKWs and Bass Pro Shop. There was a seller on an auction site offering a number of wooded boxed 310s with 309 stamped main clip blade. Just another example of a large factory store sale of a build-out.
The addition of the cut-off pen blade to the standard 309 is what makes it the 310. It is frequently offered with the sliding top wooden box found in use with some other small Buck models. The cut-off blade is suppose to be desired by whittler's hence the name. The bottom example is my earliest - 93, it is just slightly more polished than the others, and to me nicer looking, my newest additon (03) on top. A couple of guys collect these and work at finding all the issue dates. 300Bucks

I've begun to develop an interest in the slippies and after talking to Skyhorse about his, I started looking for one of these. This one is far from mint, but after a little work with some oil and fine scotchbright, it's not looking too bad. There's still some "patina" on the back, but I may just leave it alone.

Wow some very nice photo's as always folks. I love the SPS; "thanks Armand".

This week it's a set of BCCI 110/112 DP S30V Sambar stag's. It's a father/son, or big brother/little brother or whatever theme.

Love those jb, just got to love the DP's and stag. Great combination.

I decided to bring this one back just because I never get tired of looking at it.

 Beautiful knife Dave! I like it with that cutout! It won't be a user either way right? Weather is crumby here also, but I am working on some pics ;)
