The Sunday Picture Show... (12-6-2020) . . . (OLD Show Look at the DATE...)

Here's an odd duck you don't see very often. An Ecco. This is the B274 (smaller) version. Its a handy pocket knife. Would have been better if the serrated blade was fully serrated, but still useful to have.

Very close to the size, other than thickness, and weight of the 501.

I don't own any 501's but I did take this picture this morning.

Great show all. The 501 is in my opinion the perfect pocket carry size.

Here are a few 501's with damascus. Blades and or bolsters. Top one is mastodon ivory, Middle is stag, and the bottom one is cocobolo I believe.

The discoloration on some of the damascus is not rust but oil to keep the damascus from rusting.

Man some beautiful 501’s today! And I learned a new word - verdigris ( thanks sportingspecialist!)
If you’re wondering how “German”/Nickel Silver can generate Copper salts (verdigris), there is a significant amount of Copper in white brass. Usually residues of the Tannic or Chromic acid used to tan leather can make your knife the first thing to turn green in the Spring.

Great Sunday Show with the 501's. I was to late to post photos. Yesterday we had our Christmas gathering meal at church, and my bride of 56 years used her 501 to cut up the slice of ham on her plate. She has owned it for a long time, I bought it for her when we deer hunted long ago.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Hey gedlicks any info on the damascus blades.

I went back and took a good look at some of the 501's in this weeks SPS..I now think it is the perfect dress up carry in fancy handles and blades. Not to small not to big and perhaps perfect bareheaded. I wonder if anyone has seen a auto conversion?
