The Sunday Picture Show... (2-13-2011)

Here's the L.T. Ward & Bro. 110 that I got last week. My pictures aren't as cool as Jim's () but I guess you can't teach this old dog any new tricks. I really wanted the other Ward 110 with the colored scene on the handles, but the dealer wouldn't come off the $650 price for the set.

Anyway, here's the one I do have. #016/250

Great pictures guys! I should have bought one of those 500's stelth. Shes a beauty!

I like that S&W .45ACP Colt! What cartridge did stelth post with his 500 DM? ;)

Its only money Dave! ;) How many full sets are out there for the Ward Bros knives? Anyone ever seen a full set? BTW, your pics are crystal clear and show great detail!

These SPS threads are the best threads EVER! :D

A couple more to try out.

Most likely a .32-40. Maybe I should get my John Wayne Commerative Winchester Rifle out of its box and snap a pic of it laying next to one of my Buck Dukes. I have nothing fancy as far as the Buck Duke's go, but that rifle is a gem!

Habbie, Who was Herbertz ? Also, the etching stated 1993 but the stamp looked to be 1990.

No, David, the etching states 1998 and the date mark ist the
sqared C from 1999.

Herbertz is a trading company and sells knives from different producers,
and sells knives under the name Herbertz too. Herbertz owns different
companies, one of them is Puma. http://www.herbertz-messerclub.de/

The Buck Knives INC has a cooperation with "Herbertz". Herbertz offers Buck
knives and handles the warranty affairs (sorry about my bad school English I
don't know a better word).

More Questions? ;-))

Best,
Haebbie

I've only seen pictures of the set on the dealers website. It says that the one I want (The Workshop) was only available in the set and that there were 100 of them made so I assume that means there were 100 sets.

I just wonder if the dealer still has all the sets? :D I have never seen a picture anywhere of them, except on that website where they are listed ;) It is a very cool set of knives.

Thats a cool 186 Jerry!

Oh, heck heres some charcoal dymondwood 154CM 110's :D
These are hard for me to get a decent pic of. They are always dark. They are actually closest to appearance in the third pic.

Postfalls, I think the cartridage Stelth showed in his photo is a .32-40 developed as a target cartridge originally for the Ballard Union Hill Rifle and later Wincherster and Marlin added it to their line of lever action rifles . I went into brain fry until I remembered . I think thats why you did it ? Anyway, I liked your photo of the AG's and BG's arrangement and JB's stag 112 . Which I never guessed he liked ;) . Then HK's 186 I've never seen . The charcoal 110's I liked . Dave, your L.T. Ward I've not seen and Habbie, thanks for the info.. DM

WOW, another one I have never seen Jerry! That is a fantastic knife!

I didnt ask to fry your brain DM ;), I asked because you are up on that stuff, and hit the nail on the head a few weeks back when you stated the bullets I had pics of. I was impressed!

Wow. Many comments required.

Thank you PostFallsIdaho for remembering my penchant for fixed blades.

HK, that 186 selector: is it a custom or one just produced for a short time? Either way it is as rare as all your others.

I am both lazy and have a miserable cold so will post a repeat--sorry for that.

The ironwood 119 while certified to be made in Post Falls was actually made in California.

Telechronos:):):)

Post, My wires start melting up stairs from shorting out . Ha, I enjoyed thinking about it

Thats a handsome knife .Great 119's, 639 and 819 Tele. and I hope you get better . Is your top 119 w/ Ironwood handle a barrel-nut model ? Great show guys . DM

David / Tele---Thank you. The Custom Selector was offered to me by Joe Houser on A Second Chance Offer[/B]. Really. I bought the 919 in 2002. The box states: Jim Cabela/B919-CB-O/CAT.9381.

Tele you have some great 119s.

hkingdom, That's an interesting looking 186. Was it made by the custom shop? I am curious to know what keeps the blade pivot bushing from turning (the flat spot on the round bushing must be oriented for the knife to work properly). Is it being held in place by being squeezed between the handle slabs, or is the bushing fastened to a handle slab on one side? Thanks!
