TMorning folks, The 105 was my first Buck knife. I found it trudging through some mountain laurel in PA when I was probably 12-13 years old. It was in a small clearing where someone must have sat and left it. It was in fine shape but sadly dissapeared during my stint in the Navy. Here's it's replacement.image.jpeg

I am always saving for a new classy Buck but then, I have to buy car parts. A MAF filter and I got lucky because I bought the O2 sensors and didn't need them so I sent them back.

ItsTooEarly ItsTooEarly The brass and wood do look fine. :)

No doubt as fine as Mae West, Marylin Monroe, Bridget Bardot, and Raquel Welch (in their prime) wearing a Micro Mini Bikini. :)

View attachment 1276586 View attachment 1276587 View attachment 1276588 Last week, I BESS tested a new 110 blade with the standard double bevel. It came in at 315 which is in the normal range for high end cutlery. This week, I am testing a new old stock Ion Fusion blade (Buck Cote) which has a Titanium Nitride coating and has a single bevel.
The ceramic coat at 82 HRC is exposed on the micro edge. The edge angle is about half that of a double bevel. So the blade is inherently about twice as sharp.
Test results put this blade near the razor category. The BESS result was 210. This is the weight in grams necessary to cut a standard "string".
