The Sunday Picture Show... (2-5-2012)

One more buck knife in your pocket or on your belt JNieporte and you are gonna have a very good chance ripping right off that post my friend:)

My number one son's lovely wife is scheduled to produce a male child this Spring. Accordingly, I must acquire more cutlery so that number one grandson doesn't come into this world without an edge.

Let the women folk wail but I was given a terrific folder, ice pick and ballpeen hammer at the earliest of ages by my Grandfather and look how I turned... er, well, uh, lets get right to the pics.

David, I don't know the answer, but I will try and find out. I have the complete set bothl ways.

While you are checking,,, the 2004 tang stamp doesn't match the 2006 date on the box. And those are Boss Stamped S30V. Now off to dig out my 819SS and look it over.

I was really excited when I saw this 110 peeking out of a 111 sheath. This knife commemorates MATCO tools first sponsorship of a national NHRA event, the 1997 drag racing SuperNationals. As bonus for MATCO, Dean Skuza's MATCO Tools sponsored nitro funny car won his event. The MATCO emblem looks like a decal but is actually recessed into a cutout on the scale. I found it in the 1997 Special Projects list but no quantity was given.

Here's another version from 1997 also. This one has the metal inlay of the car in the handle and is numbered 1 of 1500 on the rear bolster.

That same year, they did one like it for Rusty Wallace and the #2 Nascar. Both of the ones I have (funnycar and nascar) came in fitted boxes with glass tops.

Very nice! I like this series. I count 17 and have 8 so far. You knife is 175-S6 cat #2901 Rainbow Trout Scales. The box is mismatched.

Did they both have the fancy engreaving on the backside?

Thanks for the info, I have not seen any of the others in the series. Thats what I get for shopping on the bay...This one is going to my dad who is an avid trout fisherman.

It was just to cool to pass up

Looks like a warranty issue, one of the blades fell off.

I'm guessing Leroy stole a blade. Looks likes a post hours earlier states that, but I never read it until after posting this :)

An Ironwood/Bloody Jasper Barehead, an Intrepid chisel tip (center) with my first customized Buck knives from a couple years ago (my first 110 top right) , and a 110 chisel tip, which works great for prying. :) :) :)
