Thanks everyone for the kind words... I'm still sick, but doing better... I can't wait to be a 100%... What a Great Show we had last Sunday...
Lets do it again... ITE ...

Thanks ITE as always for getting the SPS up and running...even when you're not feeling well.:thumbup::thumbup:

Here is a knife I picked up towards the end of last year. It is the oldest Buck I own. It might even be my age. :)

As close as I can find in the old catalogs on the BCCI site I think it was from the early 1950's to the mid to late 1950's. I would like to think it was born in 1952 just like me...so until I hear from Matt or one of the Dave's, that's what I'm gonna go with. :p

The knife looks unsharpened to me and is in great shape for it's age. The previous owner had dipped the blade in shellac years ago and I removed that to see what was under it. The shellac was so old and yellow that I couldn't see the blade. I'm guessing the sheath is maybe ten years newer than the knife?? It is in great shape also!!

I found that alligator snout that the knife is sitting on during my last hike. You will probably see it again as a prop because I like it.

Some of you know that I just recently finished walking 1,100 miles along the Florida National Scenic Trail. Here is one of my favorite rivers along that walk...the Aucilla. It is truly a wild river. I heard there was a river near this area that some of the old Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies were filmed. There are places where this river disappears underground and reappears 100 yards later...very unique!! I got to walk along it for maybe 20 to 30 miles.

Once in a while I got lucky enough to walk over a bog bridge like these to keep my feet dry. Lots of times the bog bridges were over dry ground and I still got my feet wet walking through muck.

I was on this one and saw four large hogs in front of me. They took off fast before I could get my camera out. I could hear more hogs all around me, so I started walking slowly with the camera ready and these little buggers crossed right in front of me. :)

Stumps, your knife is a group 5 knife and made in 1948. Its beautiful...
The sheath is one you would find on a fiber spacer barrel nut circa 1963...

Very lovely pictures everyone. David has been poking that I should be showing off some of the stuff I found at the gun shows round here.

Picked this up at the Cruces gun show with David. He helped point it out to me and I managed to snag it right before another fellow wanted to get it. He claimed he already had 5 of them and that they were his favorite knives. I just had to have 1 for the collection.

Picked this one up at the gun show in Elpaso. It had some light spot rust, but that came out with some fine grit sandpaper. Other than that, the knife was dang near new condition. Never cut anything and I even got a real old Buck 110 sheath with it since the fellow had long since lost the original.
