The Sunday Picture Show... (3-19-2017) . . . (OLD SHOW LOOK AT THE DATE)

I believed you the first time I saw those four pin 112s, and was duly impressed. Not an item you just go out and easily find, well done. Preston

Great stuff again this week everyone!

Better late than never. It's been a long weekend...

Here's an oldie but a goodie. Buck 914 replica for Cabela's.

Late to the fun.... I would have posted hours ago but Photobucket is running slow.... :)
If any one can suggest an alternative I'd love to hear it.

And on to the show, a cute advertising 525 in a nice wood box.

And something a little different. A Chinese counterfit 113 Ranger Skinner. Scary close....
Compare to Preston's in post #33.

I could barely see any difference in the 113's ...That is scary! The rivits look slightly different, with more of a dome on the real Buck. I wanted to ask if any of the 4 pin 112's came NIB? Your collection of them took real decation and I bet you got most of them before 2000. The information I read was there was at most a 5 gallon pail of frames used so the total number ever made was likely under 500 I would think. I once seen a 110/112 double blade custom.

Correspondence with Joe Houser has suggested that publishing differences is counter productive. I will answer a personal email with my observations if the sender is recognized to me is an active citizen of this forum. The knife was purchased for $24 which included shipping from Hong Kong so provenance is known. I have in my collection a true 2014 Ranger Skinner for comparison. /Roger

I think $24 shipped from Hong Kong is a pretty solid indicator in itself.

Did you purposely buy it knowing it wasn't a Buck?

Yes, at one time I was considering a project on counterfits and had started to accumulate a small sub collection.
I always tried to purchase directly from a China supplier so provenance would be known.
One of the downsides was that money spent buying counterfits will never be able to be recouped because I can't resell them when done.
Let's end this thread here as we are getting away from the Picture Show topic.
