The Sunday Picture Show... (3-3-2019) . . . OLD Show Look at the DATE...

Thank You ITE for another Greatest Show. There are a lot of nice knives already shown today. My picture was taken because on another thread there was a question on the size difference between a Buck 112 and a Schrade LB-5. I had both handy so I matched them up. There is a big difference in size.

Another for size comparison. Becker bk62 Kephart tribute knife and the Buck 104 Compadre. Both of these are great sized knives for lots of camp uses. I think they both have walnut handles. One is 1095 and one is 5160.15516504389792706257157348395509.jpg 15516504696452241165788947267692.jpg

Especially, good photos from this Sunday thread. Many of you have mastered indoor knife photography.

Fritiz, Somehow I too developed an attachment to the 444, I think because of its lightness and locking ability. I sometimes carry one in one of my hanging leather slips when my wife is concerned about my appearance. I am avoiding most of those situations now days if possible. I bought a extra before they became hard to find.

I am searching thru my 67 pages of photobucket for a photo to answer a question in the 301 thread. But, thought these finds would make a good Sunday Picture Show trio. I got this half stupid idea to try the home dye method on a Buck full size Vantage. And on the spur of the moment I included a bone 55. Stupid idea !

Here are the pristine knives.

Here is the Vantage Pro after orange RIT dye. Accomplished what I wanted for a hunting knife and am happy.

Should have left well enough alone with the nice bone 55. Live and learn. Have not dyed anything else. Have another Vantage Pro but it is saved from the hot bath. Had hoped for just some brown highlights on this 55.

Should have thought things over before messing up a NIB sorta rare knife.

I like the orange! The bone looks OK too. Lets say different, but not bad.

I've said this before. It takes a lot of balls to take a perfectly good knife and try to make it more to your liking. Doesn't always work the way we'd like but that's a chance we take.

That's my favorite form of bucklite. Got a 446 Goliath, couple 444's and several 442's(favorite) which were all over the place for a while for cheap. Even gave a couple as gifts.
