The Sunday Picture Show... (4-12-2015)

There was a small local knife show this weekend. I was able to rehome 2 knives excess to my needs and acquire 7 more. Here is the most interesting acquisition, a 1990 110 with a laser engraved Colonial type soldier (?) laser etched into the ebony handle. Does anyone have any info on this? There was nothing on or in the box to give a clue.

It's not a one-off because someone else posted a query about another back in 2013.

DeSky,

I called a friend and he said it was a aftermarket for sure... :eek:

But to be sure, you can email Joe Houser with some pictures...

Thanks gsea, you guys make the show work with all your beautiful Buck knives...

I always wanted that train 110 or any train knife... Thanks for sharing... :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

:)

Here is a sampling of a few of the others that followed me home this weekend.
The Buck plaque was a gift from another attendee. A nice bunch of people.

I purchased this one just for the pretty handle. The pictures don't do it justice. No sheath or box.

Another 2005 Idaho knife. 278 Folding Alpha Hunter NIB.

The 317 with a serrated secondary blade isn't too common. The bolsters are a bit wavy from an eager beaver with a buffer but overall the knife is pretty clean and I'm pleased to have it.

.... I always wanted ..... any train knife... :)

This one is for you Armand, it's sort of a train knife..... not as pretty as gsea's.
Another of my finds this weekend. 2014 date on the knife so it was a recent project. Nice rosewood handle.

(MW&S stands for Maintenance of Ways and Structures ....gotta love google)

Great show today. Just got in, been trout fishing all day:thumbup::D:thumbup:

I have a pretty unique train knife I will try to post next week. Since I deal with the NS and CSX a lot with my job, I have to say as of late I have had far less issues with the local NS. CSX is a train wreck:(:(....or close to it. Enough blabbing, Just wanted to get that out so when I show my CSX knife nobody thinks I'm supporting their inabilities. Again, that is just here at the local rail yards

For today I have a 503 and 505 with matching 3-D inlays:thumbup::thumbup:

And the football shaped Tiger trout I caught:D:D Highlight of fishing today!!:thumbup::D

SHB, wow... That's a nice guppy you caught... :eek::eek::eek: ... lol ...

Great looking knives you got there... Now I can't wait to

see your train knives... Thanks for sharing...

:)

DeSotoSky that 317 serrated is one of only 700 made. That is a very hard to find knife and I bet you paid way less than they go for. Did it have a box or papers? Again nice knife with or without box papers etc. !!!

I have a nice 317 sheath you can have if you need it, just e-mail me.

Hi Roger, I have no idea on this one. Very cool!

The box pic is my pic, the actual knife pics are off the forum since my knife pics came out not to good (I am assuming they are your forum pics since you're asking). I am also assuming this was a no no, sorry if it was I will delete them if you want.

Hi Gsea,

Those are indeed my photo's and my photo link is open for all to look at any time. They can also be copied and used by anyone. I personally don't mind it, some others may not like it. However, it is proper forum etiquette to mention when you are using borrowed photo's.

The first time I saw my borrowed photo's they were being used in a live knife auction, I almost bid on the knife and checked my photo's to see if I had one of those already....only to discover that they were photo's of my knife:eek:. When I contacted the seller he said he pulled them off the net so he did not have to take any photo's. Ok, I ask if he thought folks may want to see the condition of the knife he had for sale. He said to bad for them as his auctions state "No Returns". He also said he did not feel he needed to disclose that the photo's were not of the actual knife he was selling:thumbdn:. Thank goodness most auction sellers in the knife arena are honest.
