I found this up about 5 years ago and picked it for today's show because it it represents the what and why I collect. I've never seen another one so it's rare and it's odd because of all the features it has.Pad print blade, lazer etched handle, engraved bolsters PLUS finger grooves! Even though it was not expensive (less than $50.00) I was excited to find it and proud to display it in my rare, odd 112 collection. Don't get me wrong I DO love Stag, MOP, Damascus plus Mastodon and Ivory 112's but a oddball like this is a great Buck too..20190512_171030(0).jpg

gedlicks..It looks like a 450 drop point blade but the Custom tang stamp has me puzzled...

Clint - I picked that knife up at the Oregon Knife Show a couple years ago. A fella brought it over to my table and asked me what it was and I told him I wasn't sure. He than offered it to me super cheap.
I than took it over to Leroy Remer and asked him about it. He said it is a knife he made a few of when he was at the custom shop using a custom stamped 500 blade. When I hold up a 500 to it it's a perfect
match. Really a cool profile.

gedlicks that is a great piece of Bucks history. I've heard the story that Leroy and Chuck himself modified a few Custom 500 blades to make the very first drop point 112's but that is the first and only one that I have seen. A very, very rare 112 and worthy of a factory letter if it's possible to get one. A few years ago I run across a listing for parts that had a possible blade from the few that were modified and researched the story. There's a few threads about it here on the forum from 2002 to 2003. From all that I found out Chuck has his hands on your 112 . I was always fascinated with drop point 112's and why they were so rare when I started collecting 112's in 2007. As David Martin would say "A good find" !!

Bucksway. Awhile back you talked of that knife and I mentioned I had one and would post a picture but I couldn't find the knife. I finally found it yesterday so I thought today would be a good day to post pics of it. Looks cooler in person and has great lines.
