The Sunday Picture Show... (4-22-2018) . . . OLD Show look at the DATE...

Sometime ago, Bucksway started a thread about his first custom 112 that eventually morphed into a discussion of a "512 Raptor." During that discussion, I posted concerning some variations of that "model" that I had, but did not know how to post photos. To make a long story short, Preston, aka pjsjr, contacted me and kindly offered to guide me through the process, so here goes:

My pleasure, I'm looking forward to seeing all your wonderful knives, such as the ones you posted above. Preston

And I was getting ready to think Tin had retired, sold all his knives and moved to a grand villa on the Central American coast. 300

Well, I feel my silence on selling is giving my moderation a fly by to ITE. Also I need to bring it up to inform new forum posters.

ITE , I have gone over this with poster you cautioned and several others and they carefully understand rules as I myself have read and discussed with them. I attempted a compromise within those rules. I have stated that "on the main forum you can contact someone and ask them to contact you in effort to purchase or sell a item."

But, let me detail that, "contact" SHOULD be something that does NOT openly show your intent to others on this forum to sell or buy. But, should only be seeking contact with someone who you think might be willing to contact you to discuss that.

If they mention causally in their post, I would like to sell, YOU say 'we can't talk that on main forum please contact me or give me contact info'. Especially no regular forum member should say "I am willing to buy , sell or trade" You say "if you would like some info on your knife from me please contact me" and give a way for them to do that.

Yes it is cutting the pie thin but that's the only way its gonna to work. Some folks are aggressive collectors and some make a living selling. To these folks I feel they should very carefully follow the guidelines we have established.

Armand, to those especially, a civil caution by you as you did, if you feel they are going too far is OK and they should understand this, maybe it was a late night slip-up. These rules are workable and more liberal than some of the other forums. Anyone with questions, please contact me on Private Mail if you have it.

Tin Sue that's one fantastic pair of custom 112's !!!!! Is the top one Mastodon Ivory? It's one of the best looking I've ever seen. On the second 112 I had trouble making out the tang stamp exactly but the radius grind goes really well with the overall shape of the blade. I can see why Chuck would want to add that to Bucks regular lineup. Over the years I have admired a lot of custom 112's including early knives in Bucks Damascus but I think the rain drop pattern in that blade shape is a grand slam homerun! If the 'Raptor' blades Leroy made were not so rare and valuable I would EDC mine to see how it performs compared to a regular drop point. Thank you for posting pictures of that beautiful pair of 112's to showcase what's possible with the redheaded stepchild of Buck folders..I firmly believe if Buck used that blade profile in perhaps Damasteel like the 40 Onset with any premium handle material it would be worthy of being in Bucks Heritage editions..

Well, we thought that about our ridgy too. But we tried it out and were absolutely surprised. Our loopy dog was so mild mannered towards the lambs - we could not believe it. Now I would let him alone with any little animal. It is only important to introduce these new members of the pack. And our dog fighter is gently like a lamb.

I bought a beige large Vantage with no serrations to try an idea, sorry no OD ones. I dyed it with Orange Rit dye. So when hunting it would be visible laying on the leafy ground. It worked well enough. I read somewhere , in the past, where someone else had dyed theirs a 'team' color. I got wild and put a bone 55 in the dye also and was not happy with results, the 55 now looks like I soaked it in gun oil. Buck had quit making the beige handles and I found another on the bay and grabbed in up in case I were to lose the orange one..ha I don't think the beige one is being made but you might run on to a good one and could dye it OD..... 300
