The Sunday Picture Show... (5-20-2018) . . . (OLD Show Look at the DATE...)

Nice Vanguards...I was never really interested in them until this SPS, I'm rapidly changing my opinion of them...JB, what is in the handle of the first pic? I tried to enlarge it and it took me too FB and wouldn't load... I'm thinking it's an Elk's tooth...

Here’s an old, rare, odd, 1 of 1, prototype, sample, test, odd ball, red headed step child, grail, buck custom, damascus, double nail notch, square frame, pearl, barehead 112 Clint gave me for my birthday.

Skyler, I agree with most of your description, not so much the prototype, sample, test, or red headed step child........red headed step children get no love, that knife would get plenty:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I think I know why some knives are marked LR, some LRR and some RRR. Can you clarify for all??? Thanks:D:D

Here’s a couple 560’s, a knife I dig. The bottom one I found in a tool drawer at my father in laws after he’d passed. He was an electrical contractor and used the hell out of tools, regardless of how pretty. No surprise that it was in rough shape. Blade had been broken, reprofiled and sharpened so there wasn’t much left. I was able to get it all cleaned up and rebladed with a bcci S30v blade with an inscription in his honor.

RRR was once he left Buck and went on his own and are not marked Buck. I have customs stamped LR, L.R, L.R., and LRR. Usually anything other than LR were personal or for friends.

Pretty sure it's Elk Ivory, also known as the bugler tooth or whisper tooth I believe..

Here's a 192 in one of my favorite handle material, Ram's Horn. Preston

Yes it is an Elk tooth, also known as Elk Ivory when used in jewelry.
