The Sunday Picture Show... (5-6-2012)

Very enjoyable SPS everyone!!

sitflyer....that is an absolutely beautiful 500 and a very nice 110!

BG...I have a couple 25th anniversary 112's, but none with finger grooves....nice knife!

DeSotoSky...glad you picked up a 186. Seems like most of the ones I see still have the original boxes like yours.

kidcoyote...is that a 302? Very nice!

jim guy...nice knife, but you need to put some miles on whatever that is sitting under the knife. :)

robarosa...I'm with the others here. I like the bottom 112 also.

Still lots of time left for more pics everyone....hint, hint. :)

WOW, jimguy. Very intriguing. My guess is that Rainbow knife is sitting on a very pristine Triumph. Mine has those gauges, though the numbers are certainly more filled in. PLEASE, more pix of the bike.

I really have enjoyed stopping by the SPS this week! I have no pic to share this week, But wanted to stop in and say thanks to all that posted theirs.

Kidcoyote's picture reminded me I finished a set yesterday. I picked up the 302 in charcoal dymondwood at the gunshow completing this quartet. All four are 2010 vintage. I'm anal that way.
Personally I'm more partial to the squared Classic bolster over the Comfortcraft. I'm really yearning for a nice set in blue sawcut valox and a traditional shield, about the color of the Tru-Blue Fishlocker. I could live with a reissue of red also I suppose. Forget the smooth stuff. Anyone at Buck listening?

Bunch of nice knives. DeSotoSky, I like that collection of 302s. Now I want to see if I can add to my 302s.

I wish i could, its a pic from a triumph book i have. I do have a nice 08 bonneville though.

Desoto, not stamps, they are etched/ or lazere'd on...?
They are there but faint...I can try to get pics tomorrow if you want...

Nice 302's you have there...what 300 frame/ main blade is comparable ? The 301 ?

Lasered and not stamped.....must be one of those Chinese counterfits....I'll get rid of it for you...:D

A picture is not necessary, I was just surprised to think the knife was naked....
Yes, the 302 is a single blade 301 frame. It sticks in my mind that there was a build out or early version that had the 301 marked blade. I'd love to hear someone else jump in and verify if I'm correct on that.

Thanx for that info DeSoto... I think I'll keep my imitation 500 though;)
I don't really like the laser etches... But on the few knives that I have with them,( this one and two of the 308 canoes), the overall beauty of the knives makes up for the lack of proper blade stamps.
I really wish Buck would forget about the etched tang markings...

Great show guys, great diversity.

Just picked up this Omni folder 10pt to go along with the 12pt. Nice sized knife.

Desoto, Correct. Likely about 100 each 301 blades as prototypes. Then stamped as 302 next year an onward. 300

yup 302 the dymondwood model number is 0302-gys-b. i like it alot its not real small but not big either. cut fruit with it, take out a splinter or open up a package or whatever else you may need a knife for . i carry it everday along with a bigger knife that varies depending on the day. but this 302 always goes with me. i have a second one that sits untouched with my other dymondwood 300 series of slipjoints.

Never say never. I thought I would "never" have a 186 Titanium because the prices they bring on the Bay exceed my hobby value but one fell in my lap at the gun show yesterday for a modest price. This week I have The Titanium and his little brother, The Tiny Titanium for show & tell.

I too have wanted a 186 for quite some time... I have a 586 and a Tiny Titanium, but every time a 186 comes up it seems out of the park pricewise...
Congrats on finding one DeSotoSky

Thanks, what I think it really is, I kept thinking about how many other Buck's I could buy for the same money.....
My new years resolution was to buy fewer but better quality Bucks...."fewer" really hasn't worked out yet.

Great Show Guys! Buck Folders are my favorite and this show is full of them!

Here's some of my latest projects I'd like to share :)

The Horn is the top section of the old brute that donated this stuff. Lots of scarring makes the pieces look very cool IMHO
