Again, thanks ITE for the SPS and those who post. It's always a great show.

I received my David Yellowhorse 212, Lacy. This one was done for this year's 30th anniversary of the BCCI I wanted to compare and show it and my early Lacy 112. Preston

Thank you.

I forgot to mention the steel used in the 212 is W-2. I think that it's used to approximate the steel found in files that were used on the early Buck knives. Preston

I saw that and while researching it I ran across this.

W2 Tool Steel
W2 is a water-hardening tool steel that is popular with forgers. It is not a commonly used steel with stock removal makers as it is not always sold in flat ground stock, but is sometimes used for swords as well as knives. W2 takes on a very beautiful hamon when it is clay tempered bringing out some beautiful patterns.

Performance-wise, W2 is an excellent steel, having a very big range of components in the alloy such as Vanadium and Tungsten as well as a healthy amount of carbon. It takes a very fine edge and holds it very well.
