The Sunday Picture Show... (5-6-2018) . . . OLD Show Look At The DATE...

Tin Sue LOVE the 2 112's !! Are they custom shop from Bucks? 2TONYB do you still have the Birds of Prey Nascar 112 ? I remember it from years ago and wanted to ask you about the series as gold etched 112's are not common..

Sorry, but it's not me with the Birds of Prey 112. I only have one 112. I don't collect girly knives!

That's the trouble going past 60...memories get jumbled up. I thought you had one a dozen years or better ago and posted a picture of one. I really liked the Damascus 112's Tin Sue as even blade's are so rare. Give us the back story on them..information on Damascus 112's is sparse.

I thought David had snuck in...He's in Israeli tho and he still teases me about the 112. I feel like I'm providing a real service for gender changed Bucks in providing a happy home for wayward confused 112's..

I'm glad someone is willing to provide that much needed guidance. Long live "The Ranger".

Because Buck has in the last 10years or so has really made some beautiful 112's and more importantly given us much more options than at anytime in the past including true factory Custom Shop knives I no longer think the 112 is the redheaded stepchild of Buck..

Yes..up till around 2005 finding a nickel silver frame 112 or a super steel of any kind was difficult and expensive when found. To this day only 100 or so BG42 112 blades have been made ..and that was in 2002. Forget about drop points period . It was only in 2008 for 30 days you could order a custom 112 and it was never mentioned on Bucks website only on the forum. I believe it wasn't a option on Bucks site till 2015. I'm not blaming Buck for the difference in the 110 options and development compared to the 112. The 110 outsells the 112 by far and I'll bet 110 collectors outnumber 112 at least 10 to 1 and maybe much more . Its 20 to 1 in gold etched blades..So yes it was.

Ok so not as much Hollywood as the 110 but I would hardly classify it as redheaded stepchild.

But I get your point but no other knives in the lineup have ever had near the options of the 110.

Lol
Where did the term 'red-headed stepchild' come from? .
A stepchild is left over from a previous marriage, and a baby with different hair colour from yours or your spouse's could have come from an adulterous union. Both conditions are cause for resentment. The expression “beat him like a redheaded stepchild” reflects the outcome of this resentment: corporal punishment

I have two 112's one two dot and the other from the 2000's. Hands down prefer the older 112 frame vs. the newer rounded frame. Don't know what it is but the newer 112's just look like a limp wet noodle compared to the earlier gen.

The only 112 I have is a nickel frame i bought in the mid 90's. At the time, I thought the nickel frame was the most common. Im not sure where I bought it. I think WM.

id imagine, but dont know the production and sales numbers, the 110 outsells the 112 by a bunch. if the 112 was a bigger seller you can bet buck would be cranking out variations galore. why wouldn't they? if they dont sell they arent going to make so many variations. i like both, own many of both but prefer the 110. 112 serves an odd spot. too thick for good pocket carry. sheath carry.....kinda a small folder. also prefer the 500 due to easier and better pocket carry.

that said i dont think buck ignores the 112...im guessing they do what sales will allow with it. just a guess though.

My thoughts were a redheaded stepchild was treated 2nd best and did not get the love that others had..The roundabout point I was making is Buck is now showing some love for the 112 in recent years..heck there's a prototype auto 112 floating around Post Falls!!

I always get caught between the 110 and 112. When I have a 110 with me, I think that's the perfect size. Then when I have a 112 I think...this is a perfect size. If the 112's blade was a quarter inch longer I think I'd have a personal favorite. I'm glad SK Blades and Copper and Clad do what they do....
